EVGA GTX 1050 overview

  • 1Description

Based on NVIDIA's Pascal architecture, the EVGA GeForce GTX 1050 GAMING Graphics Card provides major improvements in performance, memory bandwidth, and power efficiency over its predecessor, the Maxwell architecture.

The front panel of the card features a variety of outputs. There are one DisplayPort 1.4 output, one HDMI 2.0b output, and one DVI-D Dual-Link output. The GTX 1050 is not just about high-resolution gaming: Computationally intensive programs can utilize the GPU's 640 cores to accelerate tasks using CUDA or other APIs.

EVGA's single-fan ACX 2.0 Cooler quietly keeps the card's operating temperature in check. The fan is driven by a low-power motor and features swept blades and double ball bearings to increase efficiency.

With Ansel, gamers can compose the gameplay shots they want, pointing the camera in any direction and from any vantage point within a gaming world. They can capture screenshots at up to 32 times the screen resolution, and then zoom in where they choose without losing fidelity. With photo-filters, they can add effects in real-time before taking the shot. And they can capture 360-degree stereo photospheres for viewing in a VR headset or Google Cardboard.
With CUDA, NVIDIA allows applications to hand off CPU-intensive tasks to the GPU. Your GPU is no longer just used for rendering graphics, but it can provide teraflops of floating point performance and accelerate application tasks, from real-time video rendering to fluid dynamics simulation. CUDA is used in many applications and games.
G-SYNC Ready
When used with a monitor that has G-SYNC hardware installed, the monitor's refresh rate will sync and lock with the graphics card's output frame rate. Establishing this sync removes tearing and stuttering which can result from conventional fixed screen refresh rates, especially important for gaming in stereoscopic 3D. An additional benefit of G-SYNC is reduced lag so gamers will benefit from the improved command response time as well.
NVIDIA GPU Boost 3.0
Boosts the card's clock speed in real-time based on the target temperature. If the card is running below the set target temperature, GPU Boost 3.0 will increase the clock speed to improve performance. The target temperature can be reset depending on your preference so you can have the card run more quietly for everyday tasks and older games, and run at full tilt during intense high-resolution gaming sequences.

    EVGA GTX 1050 reviews

GeForce GTX 1050 GAMING Graphics Card is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good enough for VR minimums Bought this at B&H because I simply couldn't wait for a video card to come in the mail, and my computer wasn't recognizing the vive headset with my ancient ati 5770. My rig is an intel 3.0ghz dual core (haswell g3220) with 16gb of ddr3 ram. Fallout 4 VR and Rick and Morty VR will not run on this, but Space Pirate Trainer, Assetto Corsa (as long as you don't have too many cars), and Serious Sam VR (on minimum) run great. I think on Assetto Corsa I'm probably CPU bound instead of GPU. Anyway, this is holding me over just fine until I get a new gaming rig!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fair price. High quality of build. Standard GTX 1050 performance. But the built quality looks good from outside. The layout and design of heatsink and fan are almost the same for EVGA video cards with similar size. Overall, I trust EVGA brand better than Gigabyte, ASUS and MSI on Video card product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Budget graphics card I live on a very small budget but I want to play games like COD WWII and for a little more than a hundred dollars I can. And it plays pretty well. Sure I know it is better with a great system but I am not there. This card increased my stats in DOD GHOSTS greatly faster frame rates really do translate to better play and the graphics look great. Hey I am giving it 5 out of 5 stars I am so glad I bought it. installation is a snap

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than a 730 Replaced a GT730, and windows experience score went from 6.7 to 7.9. I use it for light gaming. Civ V. Skyrim. Default graphics selection is high.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product as expected Using this mostly for workstation tasks and not video games, but have been playing Diablo III on it and it works great at 2560X1600.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked well through a matrix switch to a 75-inch monitor I replaced the stock video card in a Dell Precision workstation with this card in a machine in our church as I was using this PC to drive a new 75-inch Samsung MU800-series TV/monitor and needed a card with a solid HDMI output. However, between the card and the monitor is a 4x4 video matrix switcher. The supplied drivers (after 1 on-line update) worked well with Windows 10, 2017 Fall Creators update, 64-bit, and the image through the switcher (which also translates the HDMI media to Cat6 cable using HDBaseT to remote PoE receivers) was very good. Launched the installation this past weekend at church with a photo slideshow and a couple presentations and had many compliments on how "clear" the images were. I doubt we'll ever push it's "gaming" capabilities in this configuration but it's doing just what I need it to do. Counting on EVGA quality to last for many years.
