Line 6 991300705 overview

  • 1Description

The Relay G70 System from Line 6 is a digital system intended to facilitate the wireless transmission of a guitar's signal—though that only scratches the surface of what this pedal aims to accomplish. The G70 gives you a bodypack transmitter, as well as a stompbox-style receiver with three outputs and one auxiliary input. Two of the outputs are standard 1/4” connections, while one is a balanced XLR DI out for the house PA, mixer, recording interface, and more. Additionally, a tuner output is always live, should you need to run signal into a tuner (or continuous signal to some other source—particularly useful in providing a backup signal during a gig that’s being recorded and intended for eventual release).

With these configurations, the receiver effectively doubles as an ABY switcher, letting you switch between amps or utilize multiple amplifiers at the same time. Also, note the auxiliary 1/4" input; if the receiver doesn’t see a transmitter, it will default to the aux in for all your patches.

All of this is provided with a latency of less than 1.5 ms, and over a range of 200’ line-of-sight. Edit mode gives you the ability to access parameters from output channel to gain to emulating the high-frequency roll off inherent in long cable runs (if such roll-off is part of your tone). Hold down the footswitch for two seconds, and you’ll be able to access the built-in tuner. The Relay G70 System includes a transmitter, a pedal-style receiver, a 2’ guitar cable for the transmitter, two AA batteries for the transmitter, a USB cable, a USB power supply for the receiver, and more.

Five Uses in One Box
The Edit menu in the pedal allows you to you create presets for signal routing, levels, and more, and then enact these presets with the press of the footswitch. You can calibrate levels, switch between amplifiers, use multiple transmitters, send level to a DI, utilize an onboard tuner, and have an auxiliary input looped in for safety, should your batteries die onstage. If you're keeping track, that's a wireless receiver, an ABY switcher, a tuner, a gain boost/attenuator, and a direct box. So not only does this pedal act as an enabler of wireless sound, it may also replace other pedals on your board, freeing up space for more creative toolboxes.
Auto Scan and Multiple-Transmitter Support
The system provides performers the ability to switch between multiple transmitters with the push of a switch. This is helpful in allowing performers to switch instruments quickly and safely without having to worry about turning transmitters on and off. Transmitters can be easily paired using the Auto function.
Simplified Routing for Complex Setups
A single 1/4" auxiliary input lets you plug in directly without re-patching pedals, while a balanced XLR output lets you go direct to the board, interface, or modeling unit. Two programmable 1/4" outs can route to amplifiers, and everything can be assigned in the edit menu. With multiple-transmitter support, the possibilities multiply further: You can route a guitar to amplifier, click on the switch, and then route your acoustic/electric mandolin to the house.
Clear Visual Indicators
With clear, easy-to-read visual displays, Relay guitar wireless makes it easy to switch channels on the go and focus on your performance. Accomplish all your routing ahead of time via the extensive, yet relatively simple, edit menu, and then utilize them on the gig. The visual indicator will clearly show you the name of the patch, the channel being received, the output you're using (A, B, or C), and the battery life left in the pedal.
Battery Powered
The transmitter runs off two AA batteries, and a built-in accelerometer saves battery life by putting the transmitter to sleep when the guitar is hanging on a stand or in its case.
