Benefitting making long exposures with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II and E-M5 Mark III mirrorless cameras, the RM-CB2 Release Cable is a remote shutter release that helps to prevent camera shake when working atop a tripod or other support. This cable release connects directly to the camera via a 2.5mm mini stereo jack, allows you to remotely release the shutter, and has a locking function for making bulb exposures.

I'm glad that Olympus went with a more standard cable release connection with their newer bodies. I also have the RM-UC1 that I used with my E-M1 and E-PL8, and this is pretty much identical except for the connector they used. This one has a 2.5mm plug instead of the special Olympus proprietary connector on the older one. Both have a nice soft cable that doesn't shake the camera body and a very positive feeling to the button. I also really enjoy the locking function on the remote. You can lock it before or after you push the release which is really nice. It costs a bit, but it's definitely worth it, especially if you don't want to use the OI.Share app to release the camera.
Works as advertised. On OMD M1 mk-iii PROS: Like the half button push for focus & full push for the shutter. CONS: Extra gear, cable could be longer and trigger housing could be smaller (so that it fit in a smaller carrying case.)

Olympus camera app companion already offers a remote shutter option over WIFI but if you turn the camera off or distance from it one needs to reconnect to the phone. This analog shutter is quick to use and reliable.
No bells and whistles, just how I like it. Very nicely built even though it is plastic. The plastic is very stout and will withstand abuse.
Tried cheaper cables but they did not work. The cable on this unit is very flexible.
Very easy to hook up, and extremely easy to use. Also appreciate the lock mechanism.
Works great with my Oly EM1-III.
