MSI GTX 1050 Ti overview

  • 1Description

Based on NVIDIA's Pascal architecture, the MSI GeForce GTX 1050 4GT OC Graphics Card provides major improvements in performance, memory bandwidth, and power efficiency over its predecessor, the high-performance Maxwell architecture. It also introduces innovative graphics features and technologies that redefine the computer as the platform for playing AAA games.

The front panel of the card features a variety of outputs. There is one DisplayPort 1.4 output, one HDMI 2.0b output, and one DVI-D Dual-Link output. The GTX 1050 Ti is not just about high-resolution gaming. Computationally intensive programs can utilize the GPU's 768 cores to accelerate tasks using CUDA or other APIs.

For cooling, MSI implemented a dual fan cooler. The dual fans cover more of the heatsink to take away heat more efficiently.

NVIDIA Ansel
With Ansel, gamers can compose the gameplay shots they want, pointing the camera in any direction and from any vantage point within a gaming world. They can capture screenshots at up to 32 times the screen resolution, and then zoom in where they choose without losing fidelity. With photo-filters, they can add effects in real-time before taking the shot. And they can capture 360-degree stereo photospheres for viewing in a VR headset or Google Cardboard.
CUDA
With CUDA, NVIDIA allows applications to hand off CPU-intensive tasks to the GPU. Your GPU is no longer just used for rendering graphics, but it can provide teraflops of floating point performance and accelerate application tasks, from real-time video rendering to fluid dynamics simulation. CUDA is used in many applications and games.
G-SYNC Ready
When used with a monitor that has G-SYNC hardware installed, the monitor's refresh rate will sync and lock with the graphics card's output frame rate. Establishing this sync removes tearing and stuttering which can result from conventional fixed screen refresh rates, especially important for gaming in stereoscopic 3D. An additional benefit of G-SYNC is reduced lag so gamers will benefit from the improved command response time as well.
NVIDIA GPU Boost 3.0
Boosts the card's clock speed in real-time based on the target temperature. If the card is running below the set target temperature, GPU Boost 3.0 will increase the clock speed to improve performance. The target temperature can be reset depending on your preference so you can have the card run more quietly for everyday tasks and older games, and run at full tilt during intense high-resolution gaming sequences.

    MSI GTX 1050 Ti reviews

GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GT OC Graphics Card is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Length a consideration and speed is 'Wow!' Check the specs, as length is a consideration. See photo for 8.5"L fit in a Inspiron 3847. The 9" Gaming version of this card might fit, and the EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G2 power supply (upgrade) has plenty of cables, though this card is powered entirely via the PCIe socket. Integrated HD4600 graphics struggled to maintain 20-30 frames per second rendering at the lowest presets for X-Plane 10; this card ran that at 100+ fps, and High/Extreme presets were 50+ fps, seamless to the senses. I think one may ignore the support DVD provided, and register product with MSI, since you should download the latest drivers from MSI and Nvidia's websites anyway. Simple installation, close case, plug in (HDMI or other) monitor and power on! Much quieter, too...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Major Power for the Price Impressive...once we found and installed the right drivers (a bit of a challenge on Nvidia). The main downside is the slot on the Gigabytes motherboard next to the card is unusable...zero clearance to the card. Hint to Nvidia: Put a rather high speed squirrel cage type fan(s) (horizontal axis parallel to and above the top of the board) with ducting down the side of the card where the axial flow fans are presently located; the ducts could take up about 1/3 the lateral space (perpendicular to the plane of the card) of the thickness of the axial flow fans, allowing room for a card in the slot next to it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good I haven't had any problems w it yet. I'm able to run bf1 on high settings smoothly. Was confused during initial installation bc it doesn't have a 6 or 8 pin slot for the power supply, but that's bc it doesn't require a lot of power to run. Overall, I'd say it's pretty decent

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MSI GTX1050Ti 4GT Purchased this to fit into a tight space on a mATX board and case. It worked out great since it does not use a separate wired power connection. It's powered only from the PCIe slot. This Ti version has 4Gb of VRAM for memory intensive games and it'll be able to play 1080/1440 resolutions easily. I've purchased several MSI products in the past year and their quality is good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GPU Upgrade When i built my current PC two years ago, I purchased a GT740 as it was all I could afford at the time. And it did the job. Then I decided to upgrade a little to the GTX 1050TI which gives me more memory. I cannot afford the 1070 or 1080 cards so this one will do. This card works perfectly and I love it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't Fit. Product not as advertised I ordered this graphic's card a week ago. Once I got it I was happy. Once I tried putting it in the slot it wouldn't go in all the way, and then I was unhappy. I demand a refund or replacement.
