Pilotfly H2 reviews

H2 Professional Kit is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product with damage and no solution with Factory I purchased a pilotfly H2 Professional Kit via BH on February 8th. In less than 6 days the joystick stopped working just like the LED light that signals the battery charge. I updated the pilotfly H2 and it with great difficulty since it does not have good connectivity with Iphone and Imac. It no longer works in any way, nor does it even call. The equipment is stoped and I can't do nothing with it. I contacted PilotFly they confirmed the defect but there is no assistance in Brazil and USA, only and Taiwan and if I want to send the piece to Taiwan the cost will be on my own.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Everything great except ability to tighten balancing screws I have tried the Glidecam Centurian and the Pilot Fly side by side. I decided to keep the Pilot Fly (PF) and return the Glidecam. The PF in one hand configuration is much lighter, (3/4 of a pound) and has almost the same weight capacity. A 3/4 of a pound difference is a big deal. In addition, I can mount a Rode external mic in the hot-shoe on the top of my Sony A7sii on the PF, but not the Glidecam. The two-handed Glidecam set up weight is about 1.5 heavier than the PF. Since the Glidecam is newer I was unable to find very much about how to operate the gimbal. There is a lot more information available on the internet about how to get the most from a PF. Although the Gildecam was very well built this did not increase the functionality of the PF. Neither could handle the Sony G-Master 24-70mm lens because the lens makes the camera to front heavy to balance. I have found the battery life on the PF to be great and like the way it handles with both the single pole and two hand handle bar set up. I have mounted the two-hand handle bar under the camera which is a nice option. I did not have to set up the software and the two-hand handle bar gives me an on-the-handle set of control to adjust the gimbal's movement method. I find the PF is easy to balance, but the screws allow the balance connections to slip. If I try to tighten them to much I feel like they could break so I don't try that. The Glidecam did tighten a little better. As for the quality of the images I get with the PF is excellent. Top notch in this department which is why anyone buys a gimbal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super lightweight and smooth I have tried a number of other gimbals in the past year looking for the perfect one. So far I found this to be the lightest and smoothest.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bipolar Product Talk about mixed feelings- when it works this thing rocks. Small, goes forever, easy to setup, and balancing is pretty straightforward. Minimal jitters- nothing that can't be fixed in post. Thing is, it will gradually come out of balance, at which point you'll want to download the third party software, which, if you're on a Mac, you'll have to open by right clicking and running it through a Java window. Besides that, it's a complete mess of a program. Redundant options, dozens of them... with limited or no descriptions that run out of the java window which can't be re-sized. If you want to get a firm grasp on it, expect to be googling and reading dense articles with highly technical language. For example, you aren't going to be working with a gimbal, you'll be working with your "Board". As in circuit board. Don't even think about reaching out for help- they're based out of Germany, limited understanding of English, and only canned responses for dealing with the "SimpleBGC" software. They recently got some help from an agency in Texas, but they just sent me back to the German headquarters...not helpful. First time I messed the thing up trying to calibrate it, it just went crazy when I booted it up. Reached out, they sent me the original factory settings, I re-synched with those, and I was good to go. This time around, I did that and now it's just completely effed. This thing is so dang close to being just what I need for run-and-gun, but I've had such an awful time getting even a wisp of support and wasting days becoming an expert in "boards" that I have to give it 1 star.
