Solo Violin 2 from the Vienna Symphonic Library is a sample-based virtual instrument featuring a different violin to the one found in the Solo Strings 1 Collection. The difference is one of timbre, which allows the instruments to appear together in works where two different timbres of the same instrument are required, e.g., for solo and chamber music instrumentation such as a string quartet. The original instrument was played by Concert Master Dimitrie J. Leivici and provides a range of performance techniques, including legato and portamento performances, multiple sustains, repetitions, trills, and many more.
