Designed for easy deployment, the UAP-AC-IW-US UniFi Access Point Enterprise Wi-Fi System from Ubiquiti Networks is a scalable enterprise access point solution providing enhanced coverage and improved network performance. It supports the 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard with speeds of up to 867 Mb/s in the 5 GHz radio band, and up to 300 Mb/s in the 2.4 GHz radio band. The Wi-Fi system offers simultaneous dual band operation with 2 x 2 MIMO technology for each band. It has a range of up to 328' and three Gigabit Ethernet ports. This UniFi Access Point (AP) has a sleek design and can be easily mounted to a wall, using the gang electrical wall box (sold separately).

The Wi-Fi system includes UniFi Controller software that can be installed on a PC, Mac, or Linux machine within the network, and is easily accessible through a standard Web browser. Using the UniFi Controller software, an Enterprise Wi-Fi network can be quickly configured and administered, without any special training. Real-time status, automatic UAP device detection, map loading, and advanced security options are all seamlessly integrated in the system.

UniFi Controller

Guest Portal/Hotspot Support
Easy customization options for guest portals include authentication, hotspot setup, and the ability to use your own external portal server. Use UniFi's rate limiting for guest portal/hotspot package offerings. Apply different bandwidth rates (download/upload), limit total data usage, and limit duration of use. The UniFi AP includes hotspot functionality. It includes built-in support for billing integration using major credit cards, and built-in support for voucher-based authentication. A single UniFi Controller running in the cloud can manage multiple sites, multiple distributed deployments, and multi-tenancy for managed service providers. Each site is logically separated and has its own configuration, maps, statistics, guest portals, and administrator read/write, and read-only accounts.
WLAN Groups
The UniFi controller can manage flexible configurations of large deployments. Create multiple WLAN groups and assign them to an AP's radio.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rock solid and great form-factor It's great to have Ubiquiti's strong technology deployed in a form-factor that is wife-approved. My home is wired with Cat 6 lines to four room which were originally set up as phone jacks. Over the years I had changed three of them to wired Ethernet connections and I struggled with a few different solutions to get Wi-Fi to various parts of the house and the patio. For a time I had two TP-Link routers set up (one in AP mode) with one on each floor of the house. It was OK, but not great. Most things refused to connect at the faster 5 ghz speed no matter what I did. About a year ago I went with Ubiquiti's Amplifi mesh system but I found I had to power-cycle that about weekly to maintain a top speed of about 50% of my ISP's download speeds. I did like the Android app for configuration and monitoring but I knew I could do better having wired APs scattered around the house. Enter the Ubiquiti in-wall system. These could not be easier to install as they simply replace the wallplate that contained an Ethernet jack previously in each location. It was simple to pop out the keystone jack, use a 6-inch Ethernet cable to go from that to the back of the in-wall AP, and then screw the AP to the exiting box (in one case) or low-voltage frame (in two cases). At the same time I picked up a Unifi gateway, Cloud Key (so I could configure via Android) and a Unifi 8-port switch were 4 ports have POE. Configuration is quite easy. I did it first using the Java enabled software on the desktop before I plugged in the Cloud Key. I now get 100% speeds (200 Mbps download in my case) in the three rooms where the APs are located and 150-175 Mbps download in every other room. I have a few devices that operate only at 2.4 ghz so I currently have the 2.4 radios on for two APs, both at the lowest power possible. All three have the 5 ghz radios on and I'm using 3 channels that nobody else near me is using for those. I'm running max power on the 5 ghz bands and I get coverage about 15 feet beyond my outside walls but no further. 2.4 ghz works well beyond that for a good 100 feet.

    Rated 3 out of 5 by from Seems buggy The wireless alone seems pretty decent. I've not had any performance issues there. The built-in switch ports are where the problem lies. The POE+Data port seems to have a disconnect on the data side. The device will power on but won't maintain a data connection. I've tried connecting the IW to a Unifi "at" compatible switch, a TrendNet, a Cisco... non remain stable. Not sure if I just need to RMA it or what.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great, needs 802.3af injector Upgraded from a standard home router + cheap APs around the house to a Ubiquiti system and it works great. Needed a separate 802.3af injector to power it. They don't seem to advertise that it works with standard 802.3af PoE, probably because they want you to buy their switches with 802.3at+ PoE. No injectors are included with the device. I'm using the non-PoE ethernet port on it to plug in an Apple TV as well.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another wonderful product from ubiquiti This product was purchased to cover a room in my house, all the products I own for a ubiquiti company, and I do not find anything to disappoint. adopt to my UniFi Cloud Key controller then Update and go, great technical support, powerful features and most importantly the coverage and maximum speed you get from this company's products .
