LG H820 Overview

  • 1Description

Enjoy a modular experience with the gold LG G5 H820 32GB AT&T Branded Smartphone. This smartphone features a 2.15 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset with 4GB of RAM in support. The chipset utilizes a big.LITTLE configuration, which uses two processors that work independently from each other to better manage performance and battery life. Additionally, it comes equipped with 32GB of storage and features an integrated USB Type-C interface that allows you to connect the G5 for mass-storage purposes, data transfer, and also serves as a fast-charging port.

The LG G5 houses a 5.3" IPS Quantum display and a Quad HD 2560 x 1440 native resolution. The IPS panel allows for wider viewing angles, while the native resolution allows the LG G5 to play back 1080p Full HD content. Additionally, the G5 features a powerful dual-camera array that includes a 16MP standard Field of Vision (FoV) lens and an 8MP wide-angle, 135-degree lens. The wide-angle lens makes it easier for users to capture greater area without having to position oneself further from the subject or subjects. An 8MP front-facing camera is also on-board.

Bluetooth 4.2 + LE is onboard for pairing with other Bluetooth-enabled devices. Built-in NFC allows you to instantly connect to other NFC-enabled devices for content sharing, simply by tapping the two devices together. A-GPS with GLONASS is also available for using Google Location and Maps services. Additionally, the LG G5 has a removable 2,800mAh battery.

The G5 also enables users to customize its functionality thanks to its modular design. The bottom portion of the G5's bezel can be removed and swapped out for add-on accessories, including the Cam Plus and Hi-Fi Plus (both sold separately). The LG G5 also offers a microSDXC interface for adding up to 2TB of storage capacity. The LG G5 comes with the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

GSM / 4G LTE Wireless Connectivity
This phone is designed to work on select GSM networks and is 4G LTE capable. LTE is an advanced cellular network data protocol capable of data speeds so fast that they compete with wired broadband internet providers. With an LTE connection, this phone should have no problem streaming HD video, downloading apps, uploading photos, or anything else that requires a high-speed data connection. The phone is also backwards compatible with 3G and 2G data for instances when you can't get LTE. In addition to cellular wireless, this phone also features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. Note: Not compatible with all cellular networks. Please make sure your provider uses a frequency or band that this phone supports. You can check which bands this phone works with in the Specifications.
AT&T Variant / US Compatible LTE
The H820 is the AT&T variant of the LG G5. The H820's LTE radio is tuned to frequencies that are most often used in the United States and North America. It can also be used in other parts of the world; however, LTE access may be limited or unsupported, depending on the network. To ensure this phone will work with your carrier please check to make sure the frequencies your carrier uses are supported by this phone. The full list of compatible carrier frequencies can be found herewybrsauzzzyswxsxvqwaxfxvfdwq, the frequencies this phone supports can be found in the product specs.

This phone is also AT&T branded and pre-loaded with AT&T firmware and applications. The phone was originally manufactured and locked for AT&T, but AT&T has since unlocked it for resale. The phone is new and not pre-owned, though the box has been opened in order to unlock the phone. The phone may be used on any compatible carrier; however, certain features like Wi-Fi tethering may not work on other carriers. The phone is also dependent on z for software updates.
Dual Rear Cameras
The LG G5 features two rear cameras, a standard 78-degree 16MP lens and another with a 135-degree wide-angle 8MP lens. The wide-angle lens makes it easier for users to capture more landscape, taller buildings, or larger groups without having to position oneself further from the subject. Powerful photo effects and UX are also onboard, including the Pop-out Picture, Film Effect, and Auto Shot applications, which allow users to customize and edit pictures in order to get the desired effect.
Modular Functionality
The G5 is compatible with an ecosystem of modular components, aptly called LG Friends, to deliver fun while providing a new mobile experience far beyond traditional smartphone boundaries.
Always-On Display
The LG G5 offers an Always-on feature, a second screen within the main display that shows the time and date continuously even when the G5 is in sleep mode. This means that you can always see the time at a glance, even during important meetings or when your hands are full.
USB Type-C
The USB Type-C charger is reversible, which means no more guessing which way is up. It also enables fast charging.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow
The Android operating system integrates heavily with Google's services. Using the card-based Google Now, Android quickly surfaces information for you whenever you need it, powered by the same Knowledge Engine that runs Google's web search. It's a personalized and customizable OS, allowing you to add your favorite apps or widgets to your homescreen. You can even download new themes using the Google Play Store, which offers access to more than one million apps, games, books, music, movies, and more. Android 6.0 Marshmallow overhauls permissions, allowing you to have finer control over what your applications have access to. It also marks the debut of Now on Tap, a context-sensitive update to Google Now that checks your current screen for keywords and then searches for them automatically. Other performance and security enhancements are included as well.

LG H820 Reviews

G5 H820 32GB AT&T Branded Smartphone (Unlocked, Gold) is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from very good phone once I get used to it This phone was given to me by my wife. It is my first non Windows phone in many years. My first impression is that the Windows operating system is much easier to use and understand than the Android system. I am very patient and I do expect to figure it out. Unfortunately, it did not come with an instruction manual (I downloaded one) and it is needed, especially for someone like me making this change. The phone is very well constructed. It has a removable battery and it takes a SD card. The sound is clear the volume is easily adjusted. Now, if I could only figure out how to put frequently called people on my home screen as I had with Windows.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not worth the money 1. ATT releated Nougat some time in December 2016, but this is shipping withMarshmallow, and is not updating to Nougat when tried to update from the phone's check for updates option as of today. So basically you are stuck with an old os with some security issues 2. I was a Nexus 6p user and bought this one as my nexus was broken. The camera on this one is piece of junk. 3. Lots of junk apps preinstalled and you will not be able to remove them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great price but AT&T H820 model has many issues I bought this phone LG G5 H820 AT&T model around 2016 Christmas at a great price ($340). The phone itself looks new but has a tiny ding on the back, which is acceptable to me. I am very satisfied with LG G5. It is super fast with Snapdragon 820 processor and 3RG RAM, has excellent camera and many useful features at a very competitive price comparing to Samsung S7. However, this AT&T model has several issues comparing to my another LG G5 H860 international version. First, there are tons of AT&T bloatware installed, but fortunately you can disable almost all of them. Second, the firmware update schedule is way behind other G5 models. I remember my H860 got Android 7.0 Nougat by the end of 2016 November. However, H820 is still Android 6.0.1 until today (Jan 10, 2017). Third, the overheating issue. I googled about it but actually no effective way to deal with it. Sometimes it just got heated even when not charging and no apps running. Last, the mic volume/gain is too low. When I sent voice messages in Facebook messenger to my friends, they must turn their phone volume to max to hear my voice. It never occurred at my H860 model. I have to say it is still a great phone and I am satisfied with it. But if you are able to find other non-AT&T LG G5 models at a good price, just don't choose the AT&T model.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from BAD BIRTHDAY GIFT! This phone was dead an hour after turning it on. Embarrassed that I gave this as a gift for my daughters 15th birthday. Sent it back the next day but have heard nothing and it was sent a week and a half ago. 10 days with no information is excessive m

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I would not purchase this phone if your carrier is at&t. It is a great phone if you only want to use it for data. Can't get signal at my home, strong enough to make calls. This phone does not have band 12 which is highly used by at&t.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Major upgrade from Galaxy S1 My S1 was at the point that many new apps wouldn't work. This is a very nice upgrade . Pros : Fast , expandable memory, replaceable memory, good battery life Cons: Not the fastest ( only 4 cores not 8) , most but not all apps and contacts transferred quickly. The cons are a minor nit pick and this is a very good phone and I expect it to last long given that the battery can be replaced. A good case such as the love MEI should protect the phone ensuring a long lifetime.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good! Good phone but loaded with bloatware. I should have got the international version. My fault. B&H is still the best IMO.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Initial impressions: nice phone but too many locked apps My main complaint is that it contains a bunch of AT&T branded apps that I don't want but can't uninstall. The top of the screen is curved so its a pain finding and applying a screen protector. I love that the power button is not on the side (a place too easy to press by accident) but instead on the back. Yes its hard to get at but you can double tap the screen to turn it on. Works on Bell in Canada.
