ProMediaGear PLC5D4X overview

  • 1Description

The L-Bracket for Canon 5D Mark IV from ProMediaGear attaches to the camera's tripod socket and enables fast changes between portrait and landscape orientation without the need to readjust your head or recompose the shot. Changing orientations is easy, simply release the bracket from an Arca-type compatible quick release clamp and lock the bracket back in place on its vertical side. Using an L-bracket for vertical orientation shooting also facilitates a sturdier base of support than tilting the head to a 90° position. This bracket fits the camera body only, without a battery grip attached.

This L-Bracket is designed as two separate pieces which enables the base plate to be used separately. Unrestricted access to the camera's battery chamber is also provided along with an anti-rotation "body hugging" design and built-in Allen wrench.

Specifically designed to fit the Canon 5D Mark IV DSLR.
Two-piece design enables versatility when mounting bracket. The vertical bracket can be removed when only the base piece is needed.
Arca-type compatibility fits heads by Arca-Swiss, Kirk, Markins, Really Right Stuff, Wimberley and others.
Two safety stops are incorporated into both the vertical and base pieces.
Anodized aluminum-alloy build.
Easy battery chamber access.
Anti-rotation design prevents slips and twisting.
1/4"-20 threads on base plate.
The vertical piece of the L-Bracket fits ProMediaGear flash brackets.

    ProMediaGear PLC5D4X reviews

L-Bracket for Canon 5D Mark IV is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from well constructed The bracket is very well constructed. Almost too well. The bottom plate clicks perfectly into place and it has a strap connector that you can utilize which is nice. Requires screwing into place though. The L part of the bracket is attached separately and uses some metal rods to slide into place. It seems that you can adjust the position of the L section, raising or lowering the camera, but that would require that it stick far out from the camera body. And if you wanted to reposition it in the field, then you'd need the allen wrench handy to make that adjustment (there's two large screws on the bottom that lock the L section into place). There's two other screws (different sized allen wrench required and also included) that attach on the outside of the L section, screwing into the base plate from the side. The L section, when fully closed sits a little bit out from the camera body adding considerably to the bulk. Plus, the access to the cords area is still somewhat blocked. This will happen with any device, but at least you can remove the two screws on the side and just go with the bottom screws to modify the position of the L section should you need access to those ports. In the end, I love how sturdy it is and it simply WONT rotate on the camera body, it's molded to the bottom shape and it has a little spindle that inserts into a hole in the bottom of the camera body. But it does add more bulk than I expected. If your camera barely fits into your current bag with no wiggle room at all, you won't like this bracket, you'll want one with a slimmer profile.
