Apple MKWM2LL/A overview

  • 1Description

The gold 128GB iPod touch from Apple has now reached its 6th generation, offering a music player, video camera, pocket computer, and portable gaming device, all in a single, sleek, anodized aluminum finish with up to 40 hours of battery life. The iPod touch offers a powerful A8 processor as well as a Retina display with multi-touch interface.

The iPod touch has front and rear cameras for taking photos and videos, as well as having live video chats over Wi-Fi with FaceTime. The M8 motion-sensing coprocessor makes for an improved gaming experience, which can be combined with the Game Center feature of iOS to play against your friends. The touch also connects to the App Store and iTunes, offers multitasking, allows you to connect to the Internet, check email, and much more.

A8 Processor
The Apple-designed A8 processor is built on 64-bit architecture and features GPU performance up to 10 times faster than the previous generation. The CPU performs up to six times faster than the previous-generation iPod touch.
M8 Motion Coprocessor
The M8 motion coprocessor continually measures physical motion from advanced sensors, including a gyroscope and accelerometer. This frees up valuable processing resources for the A8 chip. The M8 also provides accurate fitness tracking information, such as steps and distance, directly to the Health app.
The Metal API allows developers to design highly immersive console-style games. Metal is optimized to let the CPU and GPU work together to deliver detailed graphics and complex visual effects.

Anodized Aluminum
This iPod touch features an anodized aluminum unibody design, similar to Apple's MacBook line. It's only 0.24" (6.1mm) thin and weighs just 3.1 ounces (88 grams). Aside from the ultraportable design, the anodized aluminum unibody features a supersmooth finish highlighted by its polished beveled edges.
A Wide Variety of Colors
The iPod touch comes in a variety of colors, which have been anodized right into the aluminum body. What you get is a saturated color that still lets the luster of the metal shine through.
4" Retina Display
The 4" multi-touch Retina display has an in-plane switching (IPS) panel that is capable of producing a native resolution of 1136 x 640 at 326 pixels per inch (ppi), an 800:1 contrast ratio, and a 500cd/m² max brightness. The screen also has a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating.
Apple EarPods
Apple EarPods have a front vent, a rear vent, a bass vent and a primary acoustic outlet to provide deeper bass and better audio all around while staying stable in your ears.
The iPod touch is made from recyclable materials, such as aluminum. Also, every iPod touch is free of toxic materials, such as brominated flame retardants (BFRs) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Cover Flow
Turn the iPod touch into landscape mode to reveal Cover Flow. In Cover Flow, you can glide through your music by album art with the flick of your finger.
iTunes and iCloud
Buy and download new music on your iPod touch over 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi with the iTunes app. If you have your iPod touch linked to your iCloud account, it will automatically push your just purchased songs to all your other Apple devices, such as your iPad, iPhone, Mac, and Windows computer.
Bluetooth and Airplay
Bluetooth 4.1 lets you pair your iPod touch to Bluetooth-enabled devices like headphones and speakers. You can also stream music from your iPod touch to AirPlay-enabled speakers over Wi-Fi, to your home entertainment system via Apple TV, or to any speaker connected to an AirPort Express.

    Apple MKWM2LL/A reviews

128GB iPod touch (6th Generation, Gold) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast, easy to use, and very portable! I needed a device to upload my huge iTunes library to, so, not being an iPhone user, this device seemed a perfect fit. I'm sad to see Apple clearly trying to phase out the iPod brand, but thankfully we still have the iPod touch, and it has gone above and beyond expectations in my experience. In addition to my music, I've also uploaded several movies, which take up a lot of space, yet the Touch still runs quickly and smoothly. Even better, I've downloaded several apps, including social media and a game or two, and everything has proven efficient and snappy. I'll be getting use out of my new iPod for years to come!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost as good as my iPod Classic 160GB! My faithful iPod Classic 160GB finally gave it up after years of service. I'm sure the Classic is destined to be obsoleted by iTunes at some point so I decided it was time to move to a iPod Touch. I was hoping for a 256GB model but no such thing exists. This 128GB Touch is pretty good. Not as compact as the Classic but quite a bit lighter. You can't operate it by touch alone (in spite of the name) like you can the Classic, but it's easy enough to control. I do like having Bluetooth. Overall, a nice unit. Dealing with B&H was great. Super-fast shipping, the unit was very well packed. My first purchase from them but would buy from them again without hesitation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Apple Ipod Touch 128 GB The Apple Ipod Touch is nice. It has plenty of memory. The price is fair. The issue is the battery doesn't lasts nearly as long as an Apple product should for the amount they charge for their products. This item would be fantastic, if they could improve the battery life of their products.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Buy it only if you need it. Does it have enough space? I bought this iPod touch to replace my 9 year old iPod classic that I use in my car for strictly music playback. I understand drive formatting takes up space on any drive and the iPod touch is loaded with apps, but I was a bit surprised that 128GB wound being only about 100GB of available space. That is with even deleting some preloaded apps that I will never use. Also, there is a glitch with this product and iTunes where it fails to down convert files to AAC during transfer to the iPod touch. I never had this problem with the iPod classic. I wound up having to go through my entire music library for a week, converting my files ahead of time (to save space on iPod touch) before I could actually load all the music. Apple really needs to fix this bug as I found out they have been having this problem for years without any real fix. Also, 128GB (or 100GB in reality) should really be much more capacity in 2017. I suspect that Apple really doesn't want to sell iPods any more and would love to just sell the entire world it's streaming audio service, except the added cost of wireless LTE data makes it even more expensive for people who want the music in their car.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy I decided to purchase this product due to wanting an mp3 player with good memory/blue tooth for long rides on my motorcycle. Great purchase not only can I listen to tons of music but take pics with its camera and use apps for what is needed. Beautiful design and pretty decent battery life. I highly recommend this for everyday use ,gym,or riding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I have a very large music library. I prefer to keep my music stored on an IPod as opposed to my Iphone because I use the Ipod through my stereo receiver, in bed at night, in the car and when I am traveling. I do not want to have phone calls disrupt the music. This Ipod will allow me to store all of my music both now and in the future. It is a small convenient way to store my music.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Iphone without the phone I use this iPod to listen to audio books. Works as expected. Basically an IPhone without the phone. With no phone it makes the device very light. it came with the typical headphones which I like but only a short charging cable and no adaptor. I think the unit is a little pricey but there is really no competition in this space so if it does what you want you just have to pay what they ask. I did like that B&H was $10 less than the other places I shopped.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good device Having been a user of a 4th Gen iPod Touch for nearly 7 years, this was a welcome upgrade. Battery life however isn't what I had hoped. Though I'm willing to chalk it up to the problems with iOS 11 than with the device itself. Make sure to test the device on iOS 10 and don't upgrade it to 11 if you have a choice.
