Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Leveling Base I recently acquired this leveling base and am very happy with it. My wife has the AcraTech and I thought I would prefer the large knob of the Really Right Stuff model better than the Arcatech design. I was right and do prefer this unit for it's smooth locking and strong locking with minimal effort. the diameter is a great match to my Arca Swiss Monoball Z1. A lens coat medium lens pouch covers both the Z1 and RRS leveling base perfectly. The base is up to the usual top notch build level of all RRS stuff. I will have to see how it handles dust and wet weather as I have only used it indoors or outside in good weather so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect leveling base I use this on my tripod with a RRS BH55 on top of it and the ball head cover fits over both with ease. Shooting landscapes and/or panos ? Level the tripod quickly with this great leveling base. Then level the camera and you are perfectly level. The few inches of additional height actually helped me put the camera at eye level. Top quality and will probably last a lifetime. Really Right Stuff makes products that last. Stop thinking about it and go for it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Accessory For Use With Full Size Gimbal I bought this to use with a full size Gimbal on a Gitzo 3 Series Systematic tripod, and it works just as expected. This is very easy and quick to use to get level. My heaviest combo is a D4s with a 300mm 2.8 or Sigma 150-600mm Sport lens and this is rated for up to 25 lbs. I should have bought this sooner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great piece from Really Right Stuff After buying the RRS BH-55 ball head I decided I wanted to add a Wimberley Side Kick to have the full package but realized with the Side Kick I needed a leveling base. The Leveling base is easy to adjust and makes leveling the Side Kick simple !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth and fast I use this with an Edelkrone Wing 15 at weddings and other venues to be able to set the alignment and angles fast with the least amount of stack up. I use the leveling base on a Manfrotto tripod with quick adapter and the Universal Leveling base with clamp on top of the Wing. It's smooth adjusting but locks fast and solid in about a quarter turn of the thumb wings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again without question. I love this Really Right Stuff universal leveling base installed on the RRS TVC-33 Versa Series 3 carbon fiber tripod coupled with the RRS BH-55 ball head with the lever release panning clamp. This set up doesn't get any better for doing panoramic and video work. Leveling is easy and fast with the level built into the base. An excellent product from RRS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Leveling Base Excellent quality as expected from RRS. I use this with a Gitzo Systematic tripod. I like it for the fact that it allows the tripod to reach ground level. It does not have a handle that protrudes form the bottom of the unit as does the Gitzo leveling bases. Seems Saturday enough to support even a very heavy camera/lens

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As always RRS has set the bar for quality! As always RRS has set the bar for quality and performance! I had been using a competitors leveling base that was bulky in comparison and uses a locking lever. Problem with it was that is was hard to level as when sliding around to level it was rough making it hard to hit level, once you did and closed the locking level the level would creep off a little. I was totally stunned at the silky smoothness in operation of the RRS leveling base. A simple twist of the locking mechanism and it holds solid. What amazed me is I DO see less problem with vibration when using a large lens, the tripod is much more stable, I can go to 100% zoom at 600mm in live view with my setup and easily verify focus. With the competitors version it was virtually impossible to see or verify. I had seen this in the description on the RRS web page but had not gave it much credit, I was wrong. Yes it costs a little more but the ease of operation, quality of build, and lightness are incredible. Worth every penny!
