The FH-350 with Dovetail Base from Really Right Stuff is an ultra-smooth fluid video head designed for compact cameras such as DSLRs. It features a sinusoidal counterbalance system with infinite adjustability, allowing for extremely smooth and consistent balance for 1.6 - 10 lb loads throughout a +/-90° tilt range. Really Right Stuff uses a proprietary damping grease that maintains a consistent pan-and-tilt feel in a wide temperature range of 0 to 140°F.
The FH-350 has an integrated flat dovetail base on the bottom that's compatible with Arca-Swiss dovetail adapters as well as Really Right Stuff dovetail quick-release adapters. The base also offers a 3/8"-16 threaded mounting hole on the bottom and safety pin holes. The camera plate adapter on top as well supports Arca-Swiss plates and Really Right Stuff plates, and has a clamp lever that'll keep your plate firmly secured. A camera plate is sold separately.
In addition to the smooth movement, the FH-350 workflow is defined by advanced adjustment knobs and wheels that correspond to precision markings, providing for an accurate and highly reliable professional workflow.
Integrated Arca-Swiss compatible male dovetail on the bottom — pairs with Really Right Stuff leveling bases with a quick-release clamp. The dovetail features a 3/8"-16 threaded tripod socket on the bottom center, as well as holes for safety pins.
Sinusoidal Counterbalance System
Keeps camera balanced throughout the entire +/-90° tilt range.
Tilt Damping Adjustment Wheel
Rotate the wheel to adjust tilt damping. Chevrons align with index mark in four positions to deliver: Off (empty chevrons), Low, Medium, and High (filled chevrons) levels of fluid damping. Note that there is no damping between the chevron marks.
Pan Damping Adjustment Wheel
Similar to the Tilt Damping Adjustment Wheel, it rotates to adjust the level of fluid damping. There are no intermediate settings between the chevron marks.
Counterbalance Adjustment Knob
Rotates clockwise to increase the counterbalance restoring torque. Rotates counter-clockwise to decrease the counterbalance restoring torque.
Pan Handle
Includes foam-padded, 15" pan handle that can be mounted on either side of the head. It secures via a swivel lock mechanism instead of rosettes.
Pan Lock Knob
Rotate the Pan Lock Knob clockwise to tighten the panning base and prevent rotation. Rotate it a single turn counter-clockwise in order to loosen the panning base. The knob can be removed for replacement.
Tilt Lock Lever
Rotate the Tilt Lock Lever toward the direction of the Lock symbol on the arrow to lock the head's tilt axis at any position. Loosen the tilt axis by rotating the lever in the opposite direction.
Quick-Release Clamp
Accepts all Arca-Swiss and Really Right Stuff compatible plates and rails, sold separately. Clamp jaws are laser engraved in 1mm increments from (+)25 - 0 - (-)25 on center. Dual index marks aid positioning. (Arca-Swiss P0 — "P Zero" — Slidefix plates and plates made by Novoflex are not supported.)
Clamp Lever
The clamp lever incorporates a release latch that when pressed swings the lever open 90°. When it's locked, it keeps your quick-release plate firmly secured.
Precision Laser Markings
Precision markings on the pan and tilt axes allow you to produce repeatable positioning of the fluid head. Tilt axes are laser engraved in 5° increments, and numbers and chevrons in 15° increments.
Circular Spirit Level
Tilting the head forward, locking it at 45°, and viewing the bubble directly downward will produce the most accurate bubble reading.
