Best money I have ever spent on gear

I've owned many of the ball heads that cost 25-50% less than the RRS. Some of them bigger and bulkier from very reliable brands. But none of them compare to the RRS. Truly worth it! The quick release is unbelievable compared to others that I've tried. The ball head is so solid!

To complement my Gitzo Series 1 Traveler tripod

Bought this RRS small ball head to go with my Gitzo series 1 traveler tripod for travel. It is much better than the Gitzo own ball head for this tripod and it is lightweight and using a release clamp. Rating capacity is pretty high (see the specs). Pricey but strongly recommended for quality and long life.

Incredibly quality and strength in a tiny package.

Lightweight and compact, but incredibly strong. Feels like the BH40, just without the tensioner for the ball. Combine this with a carbon fiber series 0 or 1 tripod for the ultimate lightweight but solid platform.

    Best QUALITY!

I own the RRS BH-55 for my tripod and have no complaints about it other than its size and weight. I ordered the RRS BH-30 for use on a Platypod and I am thoroughly impressed with its quality build. For its size and weight, its build and quality is suffice for my tripod needs. Thoroughly impressed!

Best companion for my Gitzo series 1 traveler

I need a solid, strong and stable ball head for traveling with the lever release clamp. I also want a small and lightweight too, but without compromise on strong grip for my Z7 + 70-200 lens and my D800 + 28-300 lens. The quality is superb, movement is smooth and the clamp is easy to use and firm. I also own the top end model BH-55. You cannot go wrong with this ball head.

Head easily secures camera into position. I like having just two adjustments to deal with-just need to be aware of a single lever for locking the head and ball rotation tension. The quick-release mechanism is a really nice feature.
