Really Right Stuff BH-30 with Compact Lever C... Reviews
Excellent
I had the BH-40 and wanted a ball head for my traveling tripod. The BH-30 fit the bill. Excellent quality. Can't ask for a better product. RRS items are A+ quality.
Ball head
Well built. Easy to use, not a bunch of different levers and knobs to fiddle with.
Best money I have ever spent on gear
I've owned many of the ball heads that cost 25-50% less than the RRS. Some of them bigger and bulkier from very reliable brands. But none of them compare to the RRS. Truly worth it! The quick release is unbelievable compared to others that I've tried. The ball head is so solid!
excelent product
made very solid and moves nicely. love it.
Secure and easy to use
Head easily secures camera into position. I like having just two adjustments to deal with-just need to be aware of a single lever for locking the head and ball rotation tension. The quick-release mechanism is a really nice feature.
To complement my Gitzo Series 1 Traveler tripod
Bought this RRS small ball head to go with my Gitzo series 1 traveler tripod for travel. It is much better than the Gitzo own ball head for this tripod and it is lightweight and using a release clamp. Rating capacity is pretty high (see the specs). Pricey but strongly recommended for quality and long life.
Expensive but high quality
Ideal head for smaller tripods. I bought the BH-30 for a 15-year old Gitzo compact tripod to replace the original Gitzo ballhead which was very light but also not stable. The BH-30 is 100% solid.
Excellent
Excellent tripod head, bought to replace a wobbly Manfotto ball head on my 15-year-old Manfrotto G-1028 Mk 2 Mountaineer tripod. Like a miniature version of my RRS BH-55 and locks completely solid with no give or movement. Was smaller than I expected - a good thing for a small tripod. Expensive but worth it as I expect it to last a lifetime.
