Really Right Stuff B1DXMKII-L Overview

Dedicated to the Canon EOS-1D X and EOS-1D X Mark II, the B1DXMkII-L Set L-Plate from Really Right Stuff is an Arca-type compatible plate that facilitates easier, more stable switching between horizontal and vertical shooting orientations when working atop a tripod. The L-shape of the plate also benefits shooting in vertical orientation with panorama nodal slides, for maintaining a consistent nodal point, and shooting in horizontal orientation with side-mount gimbal heads. Two push-button QD sockets are available as well, allowing the direct use of compatible quick disconnect straps.

This plate set features a modular two-piece design that includes both the dedicated base plate and an L-component, which combine to form a dedicated L-plate. This versatile configuration offers the same support as a one-piece L-plate, with the added ability to remove the L-component for a slimmer overall profile when needed. The custom-fit design also maintains full access to the battery and incorporates a mounting point for attaching the B-LS Sliding Grip Component. Built-in magnetic tool storage makes it easy to remove or attach your plate when needed. Additionally, the CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum construction is finished with a Type II black anodizing, a 1/4"-20 threaded mounting socket is featured on the base as well as a QD mounting system socket, and laser-engraved center marks are placed on both axes for easy alignment.

No, this L bracket is only design to work specifically with the Canon EOS-1D X and 1D X Mark II. Currently we do not have and L bracket option for the Canon 1Ds III.

Does this fit the new Canon 1D X III?
Asked by: Peter
I called Canon's engineering department and RRS design department to find out the same answer. Neither knows, which seems incredible to me that no one has tested the new camera body yet or knows if it is exactly the same as the !DX and 1DX mark ii. Time will tell, I guess.
