Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't work for me The Multi-Clamp with Flat Surface Adapters is beautifully made, as one would expect from RRS, and I had high hopes for it for an up-coming trip but it is simply too fiddly. I had hoped that with the flat surface adapters I would be able to use it on both round poles or rails and flat surfaces - and you can, but to switch you have to mount or demount the flat surface adapters with a hex wrench and a couple of small and rather specialised screws. This is not what I want to be doing on location, and certainly not in a crowd. If you only need to attach this to flat surfaces OR round poles/railings it may well suit you and I can see that for its original purpose as part of the Safari Kit (to brace an RRS monopod) it might be brilliant. Also note that you need a 3/8 16 stud to attach a ball head - I planned to use my BH-25. I was unable to find the RRS part on the B&H site so would have needed to order one (or more) directly from RRS. The RRS Micro ballhead would probably be a better match but is yet another expense. For my travels this month I will rely on my table tripod - Leica in my case but the RRS or Kirk would work equally well - my BH-25 and and very small monopod. A clamp would complement these nicely but I am still looking for something similar but easier to set up - and ideally just as strong and well made.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good idea, but need improvement of the design I bought this one for the Europe trip planning to have some street photos. With the flat surface adapter installed, it served the purpose pretty well on the table top. However, if I need to clamp it to a round pole, it does take time to un-screw the bigger adapter for a solid hold. The smaller one was able to turn to open the inner arch. I don't know why RRS doesn't make both adapter to be able to turn. Other than that, the product was very well made, compact, easy to use. I put the Benro V0 and Nikon D800 with 24-70 f2.8 without any problem.
