EIZO CH2700 Reviews
Does most of the job
Unfortunately no hole for suspending a calibration device but there's an easy workaround. Just lift hood up, place calibration device and replace hood to calibrate.
Pricey, but still a very solid monitor hood
Bought one of these for my CS2731 monitor. It was pricey, but ultimately worth it- these hoods are much better constructed than the previous ones for the CG276/277 series. Those ones required some level of Ikea-style assembly, whereas this hood comes in a single piece- the two sides are hinged to fold up and down, and the entire thing latches onto the monitor using a bunch of built-in magnets that line up with corresponding magnets built into the monitor's bezel. About my only complaints are: 1) You can't adjust the monitor pivot by grabbing the hood, since it'll just disengage and come off (I've had to stop myself several times from doing this since the old hoods were physically latched into the frame using plastic hooks, so they weren't going anywhere) 2) This hood is for landscape only, whereas the old hoods could be reconfigured for portrait or landscape Other than that, it's a great upgrade to any Eizo monitor that supports a hood and didn't come with one out of the box. The inner material is definitely better than the old hoods, and not having to play Ikea whenever I want to remove the thing is also a huge plus.
solid!
love it! it's solid and stable and keeps overhead and sight light off my monitor
Must have Hood
Expensive but worth it if you own a EIZO Monitor. The inside is felt lined and it easily attaches via magnets. Would recommend.
Helps prevents glare
This EIZO hood was easy to magnetically snap in place, and easy to remove when not in use. Since I have limited control in my room light, the hood prevents glare on brighter days and a must for photo processing on the CS2740
Great Hood for a Great Monitor!
Great Hood for a Great Monitor! Fits perfectly - magnets make it easy to install and hold it in place.
Excellent hood, could be bigger
The dedicated hood for Eizo CS 27 inch computer monitors uses magnets to keep it on the monitor. They are strong enough that the hood is not easily dislodged when bumped by your cat or when you reach for your beverage that's just around the side of the display. It's much better than the dedicated hoods for the NEC PA27_ line of monitors in this respect. I would suggest two changes to the hood. The first is increasing its depth. It blocks out overhead light , but is less effective with ambient light in the room. The second would be the addition of a small trap door on the top through which the calibration device could be lowered. The Eizo CG 27 inch monitors don't need the trap door, but the CS line of monitors do. The NEC hoods are better in this respect. Now that NEC has left the wide gamut monitor business, perhaps Eizo could purchase the necessary patents and use them to improve their hoods. Despite those minor quibbles, I would strongly recommend this hood. It's a lot better than building your own.
Should be just included with the monitor price
I bought this with the CS2740 monitor. They should really include this with the price of their monitors. No access holes or slots for a calibration device. You have to take the hood completely off. When attached to the monitor (with built in magnets) you can't hinge (fold) either side flap (if you had a two monitor side by side setup). Doesn't take much for it to come off. Otherwise does the job.
