The Beacon LED Wand-Style Light from Genaray is a perfectly-named 2.3" diameter tubular light source that measures 22" in length and can easily bring some "magic" to your work. The Wand makes an ideal sidelight, rim light, or hair light. Since it doesn't generate any heat, you can get as close as you like to your subject for special effects, or you can even tape it to a wall or shelf for use as an up-light.
The Beacon runs on a removable, rechargeable battery that can give you up to 1.5 hours of run time on a full charge. Since the battery is removable, you can have a spare at the ready. The charging cord doubles as a 100-240 VAC adapter so that you can charge it or use it connected to a mains power source with the battery inside anywhere in the world.
The Beacon's 312 LEDs are 5600K daylight-balanced, but you can use the included filter to change it to 3200K tungsten-balance to match other fixtures or ambient light conditions. Light intensity is flexible too, allowing dimming from 10-100% while maintaining a high CRI rating of 95.2 for accurate color rendering
Although the most fun is to be had by handholding the Beacon, it's also mountable to a variety of grip equipment via its 1/4"-20 female thread. This is where another hidden asset comes in; the Beacon has a 4-channel receiver built into it so that with separate purchase of Genaray's MB-WRT remote, you can adjust the light level or put the fixture into sleep mode. Finally, the Beacon has another hidden feature to make sure that your shoot isn't scrubbed because of the rain. The light's IP65 rated water-resistance makes it immune to moisture, splashes, and precipitation
