Support up to 22 lb with the FTA28CV1 Travel Angel Series 2 Carbon Fiber Tripod and the V1E Ball Head. This compact tripod features reverse-folding legs that enable the tripod to fold down to 24.6", which combined with its 4 lb weight makes this a suitable tripod for travel. When the 4-section twist-lock legs are fully extended the FTA28CV1 reaches a height of 66.9". One of the legs can be removed and connected to the center column to create a monopod for added versatility.

The legs are made from 9-layer carbon fiber for minimizing weight without sacrificing strength. To add stability, the rapid center column has a ballast hook on the bottom so that you can hang a stabilizing weight such as a heavy bag or case. Rubber feet and stainless steel spikes let you use the tripod on a variety of surfaces such as grass, ice, or wooden and tile floors. A dust cover and a carrying case with a shoulder strap are included to protect the legs when not in use.

The included V1E ball head has separate pan and ball locks, and an Arca-type compatible clamp with a quick-release plate. A 90° notch lets you quickly change your camera to portrait orientation, and an integrated bull's eye bubble level helps maintain horizontal alignment. The base of the head connects to a tripod or monopod via a 3/8"-16 thread and the included plate provides a 1/4"-20 camera mount.

FTA28CV1 Travel Angel Series 2 Carbon Fiber Tripod with V1E Ball Head is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny! So far I have used this for landscape and night photography. I have nothing but good to say about it. It is so easy to use, no fumbling around in the dark, I could practically set it up blindfolded. It is sturdy and holds the camera steady right where I want it even with heavy lenses. It's light weight enough that I can carry it a distance which is a big deal because I have a lot of joint/arthritis issues. I had a cheap tripod and finally took the plunge on this when I missed some fabulous and fleeting night shots due to fumbling with the tripod. I just regret that I didn't buy this sooner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best value you can get When i set out to find a tripod, i was really lost with all the big brands. I have use an aluminum Manfrotto before and i hate it because it's very heavy, huge and clamp set up takes forever. I want something light, small, yet still sturdy enough for long exposure (astrography) and Gitzo is just too expensive. I narrow my search down to Manfrotto befree, mefoto globetrotter and this Benro. From further research, the Manfrotto is actually quite fragile and not suit for DSLR; while mefoto is sub company of Benro. I didn't have the chance to compare the globetrotter direction with this Benro, but from all the forum threads i have read mefoto uses aluminum for the leg joints to save cost so i decide to go with this. The tripod feels very sturdy with its legs halfway open. Fully extended it's still stable but you probably will want to add some weight (there's a hook underneath the center column) in case it's windy. The head is smooth and responsive - though some reviews claim they will break sooner or later. The only thing i can complain is that the angle lock for the legs aren't very accurate. There's a chance that you will not be leveled even after extending the leg to their locking position - however there's a level indicator on the ballhead. Overall i'm very satisfied with this tripod. It may not be a Gitzo but it serves me for the time being.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice tripod to have It's light and sturdy. The only thing I don't like is the V1E ball head doesn't lock the camera/lens in place tight enough. It moves down a little every time after locking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my Travel Angel!! From the moment I opened this tripod I knew I was going to love it. I especially enjoy how sturdy it is even though I can fold it to fit in my bag easily. The ball head is really smooth. I feel safe with my camera on it for sure. I highly recommend this tripod. It's worth the money!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For its price/build quality I'd buy this product again. I have been looking out for a lightweight but sturdy tripod for my heavy Canon 7DMkII / Sigma 150-600mm Sports combo that I employ mainly for bird photography (both camera and lens were also purchased from B&H). For me, the product fits the bill so to speak: light and easy to carry around in its case and could fit inside my checked-in luggage. I was pleasantly surprised by its sturdiness and stability especially when using it with the center column in retracted position. The ball head that went with the product is also easy to manipulate, quite smooth and for its design, can lock with relative confidence and hold its locked position in spite of the 10-pound camera/lens combo. It doesn't take much time to discover how much tightening or loosening is needed for safe and smooth panning and alignment of the camera when tracking or focusing on moving avian subjects. It is not a gimbal, but it serves my purpose for reasons previously mentioned. I am happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for me Really nice tripod. I wanted something small and light enough that I could travel with but sturdy enough to use with any gear that I might want to mount. I'm only doing still photography at this point so this one is more than sturdy enough for even the largest lenses I might mount on it. It is super smooth and easy to extend and collapse and adjust the ball head. For my purposes as a hobbyist, I couldn't ask for more for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, sturdy Tripod I have used this tripod quite extensively on many trips and it is not only very convenient to carry it is also very light for long hikes and so sturdy. I highly recommend this tripod and after using many other tripods this is certainly the best I have used!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks Great Pre-Testing, holds my big lens with no problems, and with my standard lens and the extra height is good. Even works well with a large spotting scope.
