Photograph sunspots, surface granulation, eclipses and planetary transits with your telephoto lens and the StarGuy 95mm Thread-in White-Light Solar Filter. These filters display the sun in a neutral white color without the red or blue tinting common in many glass and film filters. Made of a tear-resistant solar-viewing film, it is coated on both sides to eliminate the effects of pinholes while the intentional wrinkles improve image contrast and will not affect image quality or safety. The filter ring is made of a durable and lightweight aluminum alloy coated with a reflection-limiting anodized finish. This version of the solar filter has threads that allow it to thread onto the front of 95mm lenses. For the safety of your eyes and equipment, never look or point the camera directly at the sun through a lens without proper solar filters as permanent damage to the gear and your eyes will occur.

    95mm Thread-in White-Light Solar Filter is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Had to return First of all...it was too expensive for a piece of film in a threaded holder (but I was desperate due to procrastination) and it arrived in a flimsy card board box. The center of the filter...picture the bullseye on a target... was scraped and parts of the film were very thin. When I shined a flashlight thru the back of it I could see the flashlight. Not good for the sensor. Somehow got damaged along the way (the flimsy packing..filter was in a thin plastic baggy??) . I returned and got my $$ back. Yeah B&H. But it left me without a filter for the eclipse. Next eclipse, I'll start way earlier.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really works well... The lens element has a mylar feel to it and may not be real durable. The filter works well. It blocks all un wanted solar energy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Over Priced I thought that I was ordering a glass solar filter. This is a mylar film in a ring frame. Similar items are available for about a third of the cost. For the very high price, I'd expect a perfectly flat surface. It isn't. I don't recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solar filter is OK I tried the MrStarGuy 95 mm thread-in white light solar filter this afternoon. I learned I will need to use my tripod, but I find it will work for taking pictures of the solar eclipse in August.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Predatory pricing on filter Well, here we have a item you can't do without--consisting of a threaded brass ring and a piece of Mylar being sold at glass filter prices--I am ashamed B&H would be part of it Stan

Rated 5 out of 5 by from yes If needed I would buy this again for the solar eclipse this was great.. Gave the sun a white look as opposed to a red or orange look. Also this is great just for viewing the sun!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pricey, but it works Seems very pricey for a piece of solar foil mounted in a filter frame, particularly when is comes in a simple baggie and cardboard box and not a filter case. That said my test results have been good so far, so I am satisfied with the image quality you can capture through the filter. No worries about the live show in a week, other that the threat of clouds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from StarGuy 95mm Solar Filter I bought this filter to photograph the solar eclipse that's going to take place on 21 August 2017 and I have still a lot of practise to do before I make my way to Paducah Kentucky. However, in the practise I have done, it's a great filter. I was able to clearly focus on the sun using my 600mm lens and the photos I was able to take were fantastic!!! I did at times photo some clouding due to the filter, but that was most likely due to operator error and not the filter. If you are considering a white filter to photograph the upcoming eclipse, you can't go wrong using this filter. I also have a 58mm and 67mm white filter by StarGuy but the capability of the lens - not enough magnification to get a good picture size of the sun - limits my using these filters for this photo shoot. StarGuy makes a great filter. Word of caution, these are film filters and to properly protect the filter they need to be stored in a hard filter case. I asked StarGuy about this and their response was it was not in their plan to provide a hard case for their filters, that I would have to acquire the cases from a third party vender, not a very good response from StarGuy to protect your investment, but their filters are superb.
