I want to purchase a HiFi Component from China ...

I want to purchase a HiFi Component from China but it has a china power source (220 I think) and a Type I plug. I am also concerned about the frequency (hz) difference. Do I need a step-down converter? And what devices do not require a step-down converter where someone can just buy your adapter and simply plug the plug in?
Asked by: Chris
The voltage converters will not change the cycles. This adapter will only adapt the physical outlet plug.

If this does not change the voltage or the cycles ...

If this does not change the voltage or the cycles (frequency) Then what is the purpose of this? Because an Australian / Chinese / Argentina Device with a Type I plug usually always going to have a higher voltage or different cycle (220v).
Asked by: Chris
This is used to change from one configuration of a physical AC outlet plug to another. where the appliance has a built-in universal power supply.

the laptop is an Australian version my gf outlet ...

the laptop is an Australian version my gf outlet is 220v 60HZ i know that this adapter will let her plug the adapter power card plug in to the wall but will the laptop still charge back up with only 220v as Australia has 230v 50 Hz?
Asked by: wolfgang
This adapter will not convert your voltage or your frequency – it will only adapt the shape of the plug. Check your specific laptop power supply - If your laptop power supply is compatible with 220v 60Hz then it will still work properly.
