The Core i7-7700K 4.2 GHz Quad-Core LGA 1151 Processor from Intel has a base clock speed of 4.2 GHz and comes with features such as Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 and Intel Hyper-Threading technology. With Intel Turbo Boost 2.0 technology, the maximum turbo frequency this processor can achieve is 4.5 GHz. Additionally, this processor features 4 cores with 8 threads in an LGA 1151 socket and has 8MB of cache memory. Having 4 cores allows the processor to run multiple programs simultaneously without slowing down the system, while the 8 threads allow a basic ordered sequence of instructions to be passed through or processed by a single CPU core. This processor also supports up to 64GB of DDR4-2400/2133 and DDR3L 1600/1333 RAM at 1.35V, has AES New Instructions, 14nm lithography, and utilizes 7th Generation (Kaby Lake) technology.

Graphically, the Core i7-7700K 4.2 GHz Quad-Core LGA 1151 Processor uses integrated Intel HD Graphics 630. This processor is also unlocked, meaning that it can be overclocked past its maximum turbo frequency. However, overclocking past the maximum turbo frequency is not recommended. Not only will it cause the processor to run much hotter, it will also void the limited 3-year warranty.

    Core i7-7700K 4.2 GHz Quad-Core LGA 1151 Processor (Retail) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 56.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great upgrade from AMD FX8350 This is my first Intel build and I am glad I went with Intel instead of waiting for new AMD release. The jump from AMD FX8350 to I7-7700K is huge. The installation of the processor was a breeze (much easier than AMD). It was paired with ASUS TUF Z270 Mark 2 motherboard and Noctua D14 CPU fan that I was using with AMD. Idle temperature is around 25-28C (depending how warm the room is) and load doesn't exceed 40C. If you are upgrading and deciding between 6700k and this processor (7700k), definitely get the newer one as the price different is only $10-$20 (at the time of writing this review). Definitely would recommend it anyone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Chip... Bad overclocker Had to knock some stars off(Bad overclocker). Hopefully the revision chips will resolve this issue who knows. The material used underneath the heatSpreader is sub par causing temp to be about 5-7 degrees hotter than the previous 6700k. Using my Be Quiet! Dark Rock 3.. MY idle temps are between 36-40C .. I guess Intel made up for this by maxing the freq to 4500Mhz.. Recommend waiting for the next revision for this chip.. Chip can be fixed.. Just have to rip off the heat spreader and add a good thermal compound then re apply.. Then temps will drop about 10-13C .Gigabyte and Asus has tutorial on doing this but this does void the warranty..! So at this point I recommend the 7700 or the non overclock version until they get this resolved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Massive upgrade over my bottlenecking i5-6600K I got SLI 1080 Ti GPUs via EVGA's Step Up program and excitedly plugged them into my machine. Once booted up, though, I realized that my i5-6600K was bottlenecking them hard, with my CPU usage at 100% while each card was only getting 50% usage (in GTA V). Grabbed a 7700K from B&H and it's made a world of difference. Not only does it not bottleneck at stock, but it seems to be a pretty good overclocker so far, as it's stable at 4.8 GHz, and I'll be aiming for 5.0 GHz once I get a better AIO cooler.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great Stably overclocked to 5GHz with ASUS ROG Z270E motherboard with liquid cooling and EZ settings in BIOS. No custom tweaking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Sweet Spot (For Now Anyway) Finally got the build done and was more than pleasantly surprised at the speed of the system. I didn't expect it to better my old i5-3930k but I do think the wife's machine runs better! The system replaced a 15 year old AMD crawly thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this CPU again. Great purchase One of the fastest I7 CPU's out there. Installed quickly and was simply packaged without all the extra stuff you end up throwing away minutes after you open the box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Speedy processor The i7 7700K serves as a substantial foundation for my computer, giving the requisite horsepower for high end gaming and programming alike.
