Nyko Miniboss Reviews

Worth the money! But doesn't feel like a nintendo controller

Price is great! It works quite well but it doesn't have the same feel as a real nintendo controller. I thought it may affect gameplan but it hasn't yet.

Solves a problem, introduces a new one

Most everyone can solve the simple problem of the NES Classic's short controller cord with an extension cable. However, I have three dogs, so a controller cord is like a magnet for them to run into & take down my entertainment center. Nyko took a very courageous step by releasing the Wireless Miniboss Controller. I thought the angled B-A configuration would be a bit of a challenge, but it turns out that's not a problem at all. The real problem is the very clicky actuation point on those buttons and the D-pad. So you need to be very precise and deliberate with your inputs. It's not like an NES game requires you to enter a move like Geese's RAGING STORM from Fatal Fury, but even a simple single-button press requires a little more thought and effort to execute. I bought one of these for a friend of mine, and he says he can't run diagonally in Tecmo Bowl anymore. I haven't yet tried Contra (with diagonal shooting), but I know I need to press the buttons a lot harder to control Kirby. The controller is otherwise lightweight and comfortable. If you're the type of player who puts the 'mash' in button mashing, I don't think you'll have much of a problem with the Miniboss. Otherwise, there is a slight adjustment.

Do not buy!

Very uncomfortable to use, buttons and d pad are cheap. Better off using the original controller.

Fantastic wireless controllers

These work great! I bought two. Same response time as compared to wired controllers. Same comfort as a wired classic controller. Much better not having to be so close to the TV as we did with the wired controller that comes with the NES Classic, with much more freedom to move around the room and pass the controller to another player. Battery life is awesome because I have been using these out of the box for a few weeks and haven't charged them yet. Highly recommended.

Great Controller, Easy To Use

I was looking for a wireless controller for the Mini NES Classic Edition since the cord that comes with the controller is so limited. I love this controller, I usually sit 5-10 feet from the television and I haven't had any trouble at all with it. The only downside is it doesn't come with a cord to recharge the controller, but you can easily purchase one for less than $5.00. The controller is very lightweight, and it does charge pretty quickly. The time to set it up was less than 1 minute. You just connect the adapter to the front of your Mini NES Classic, and turn the controller on and you are good to go.

question

How many hours can you play before the controller needs to be recharged? and how long does it take to be completely recharged??
Asked by: Anonymous
It takes a couple of hours to recharge. It should yield 3-4 hours of continuous game play without any problems.
