Epson DS-320 Overview

Take your scanning on the road with the DS-320 Portable Duplex Document Scanner from Epson. Able to run off the USB connection or a standard AC adapter, the DS-320 is designed for portability. In terms of scanning, this unit is extremely capable, offering an optical resolution of 600 dpi, an internal color depth of 48-bit, and scan speeds of up to 25 ppm. Additionally, the 20-sheet ADF features single-pass duplexing at a rate of 50 ipm and a front-load option is available for cards and other small documents.

Making sure your scans are of the highest quality, the DS-320 features Epson Image Processing Technology, which will automatically adjust images as they are saved. The ADF will support many different document types and sizes from 2 x 2.75" to 8.5 x 44". It is rated with a daily duty cycle of 500 sheets for longevity and features a standard USB 3.0 connection.

What's the difference between Epson DS-320 and Epson ES-200? Is one a newer model than the other?

The ES-200 is slightly lighter and smaller but offers all of the other functionality as the DS-320.

Is this scanner any good for photos or is it mainly intended as a document scanner?

We would not recommend for serious scanning of photos. Quick and dirty scanns of photos would be about what you would get.
