LG 27MD5K overview

  • 1Description

With a 5120 x 2880 resolution, the 27MD5K 27" 16:9 UltraFine 5K Monitor from LG offers an enhanced picture quality complete with 218 pixels per inch for viewing content from either a Mac or Windows based computer. In addition to the enhanced resolution, this LG monitor also supports a color spectrum of P3 99% along with a 10-bit color depth for a more accurate color representation.

To accompany the enhanced resolution and detail offered by the 27MD5K display, LG has incorporated Thunderbolt 3 connectivity into this monitor making it easy to transmit 5K content without any hiccups. In addition to high speed data transmission, the connection also enables charging of connected devices such as a compatible MacBook Pro (up to 85W). Along with the Thunderbolt 3 port users can also take advantage of three USB Type-C ports to connect peripherals directly to the monitor.

If 5K and Thunderbolt 3 aren't enough, the LG 27MD5K monitor also comes equipped with a built-in webcam, speakers, and microphone making it a multimedia powerhouse - watch movies, video chat, and more all right from the monitor. When carrying out other tasks on the 27MD5K users can take advantage of the multi-function screen manager, which provides the ability to manage a variety of screen controls such as dividing the screen into different frames, and much more. The display can even be tilted, the height can be adjusted, and it can even be mounted to the wall for a more comfortable viewing experience.

Thunderbolt 3
Thunderbolt 3 is a hardware interface that utilizes the reversible USB Type-C connector. Doubling the speed of its predecessor, Thunderbolt 3 features a maximum throughput of 40 Gb/s when used with compatible devices. The connector also transmits data via USB 3.1 at up to 10 Gb/s, and dual-bandwidth DisplayPort 1.2 allows you to connect up to two 4K displays simultaneously. Additionally, you can daisy chain up to six devices from a single Thunderbolt 3 port.
Rich Color, Better Detail
A color spectrum of P3 99% enables you to edit your high-resolution photos precisely. You will experience exceptional detail and rich color on this 5K display.
5K Display with Thunderbolt 3
The LG UltraFine 5K display with Thunderbolt 3 port can transmit 5K video and data while simultaneously charging a new MacBook Pro (up to 85W) over a single cable. Plus, three USB Type-C downstream ports (USB 5 Gb/s) let you connect additional devices as needed.
Enhanced Visibility
The LG UltraFine 5K display reaches a brightness of 500 cd/m² and can express a wide range of color and contrast. You can experience vivid, lifelike images on a 5K screen, which provides a more natural representation.
Consistent Color and Clarity
This 5K high-definition monitor with IPS (In-Plane Switching) minimizes color shift and delivers detailed, accurate images on the UltraFine 5K screen. Color is consistent from edge to edge.
