Styrka 10x42 S9-Series ED Binoculars (Black)
Key Features
  • Extra Low-Dispersion Glass Objectives
  • Phase-Corrected SK15 Roof Prisms
  • SLX-MAX Fully Multi-Coated Optics
  • Wide 65° Viewing Angle
Styrka's flagship optic series, the 10x42 S9-Series ED Binoculars is engineered with complementary technologies to produce an optic that is built to perform well in low-light conditions and in the harshest environments. First is the use of extra low-dispersion (ED) glass in the lens elements to correct chromatic and spherical aberrations. Next are high-density glass SK15 roof prisms that have a high refractive index that limits internal light diffraction to boost contrast and brightness. The prisms are also phase-corrected and dielectric coated, which further limit internal light loss and diffraction, improving image contrast. The optical path is fully multi-coated with their proprietary SXL-MAX anti-reflection coatings which increase light transmission, image contrast and sharpness, and provide true color rendition. This all translates to bright and clear high-contrast images with accurate color across the entire wide field of view - especially at low light such as dawn and dusk, and heavily overcast skies.

The chassis is built with an open-bridge/dual-hinge design which offers more gripping surface without sacrificing strength, and helps to reduce the overall weight. Made for a life outdoors, the optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to make them not only fogproof when moving between extreme temperatures, but also waterproof and submersible to 3.3' for up to 30-minutes. The exterior has black textured rubberized armor that protects against knocks and drops, and offers a slip-resistant grip for sure handling in cold and wet conditions. Styrka includes a one-piece ocular rainguard and tethered objective lens covers, plus a binocular harness that keeps the binocular close to the body while moving to eliminate snags and swing, and relieve neck strain by redistributing the weight to the shoulders.

Optical Performance

  • 10x magnification
  • 42mm objective lenses
  • High-density SK15 roof prisms
  • Extra low-dispersion glass reduces chromatic and spherical aberrations for increased contrast and improved color rendition and sharpness without distortion across the entire field of view
  • High refractive index SK15 prism glass greatly reduces internal light reflection to increase clarity and contrast
  • Proprietary broadband anti-reflection SXL-MAX fully multi-coated optics improve light transmission and color fidelity across the entire visual spectrum, and image contrast
  • Phase-corrected prism coatings increase contrast, clarity, and sharpness
  • Dielectric coated prisms reduce internal light diffraction and improve light transmission through the prismatic light path
  • 341' field of view at 1000 yards
  • Wide 65° apparent angle of view
  • Comfortable 16mm eye relief
  • Wide 4.2mm exit pupil

Use and Handling

  • Open-bride/Dual-hinge configuration provides more gripping surface versus closed-bridge designs
  • Large center focusing wheel
  • ±3 right-eye dioptric correction
  • 58-74mm interpupillary adjustment range
  • Twist-up rubber eyecups for comfortable use with or without eyewear
  • Tripod mountable with optional adapter
