  • 1Description

For capturing audio, the ULW-96-V2 Camera-Mountable UHF Wireless System by Polsen is a broadcast-quality camera-mountable UHF wireless system that can be used for applications such as EFP (electronic field production), ENG (electronic news gathering), corporate videos, rehearsals, and more. The ULW-96-V2 is a frequency-agile system with 96 selectable channels. Up to eight systems can be used simultaneously in the same location. To ensure quiet and reliable operation, the internal electronic components are IECQ-certified to meet international standards.

The ULW-96-V2 is built with a line-level input that enables devices like an audio mixer to be transmitted to the receiver. It features a headphone output with level control that allows real-time monitoring of transmissions at comfortable volumes. The 20mW radio frequency (RF) output level enables an operating range of more than 250' with relatively low intermodulation potential. The system includes the easy to conceal PL-5 mini lavalier microphone to accurately capture speech with a clear and natural sound.

In addition, the ULW-96-V2 transmitter and receiver are enclosed in heavy-duty metal, built rugged, and are designed to provide protection from bumps and falls for the most rigorous field use. The frequency select buttons provide a secure lock to avoid accidental channel changes during performances. If you're looking for a UHF wireless system that offers professional features, flexibility and broadcast-quality audio, the ULW-96-V2 will get the job done. A windscreen, mic clip, and carry case are included.

    Polsen ULW-96-V2 reviews

    ULW-96-V2 Camera-Mountable UHF Wireless System/96-Channel (514 to 544 MHz) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Upgrade to older Wireless Lavs Producer had this microphone to the shoot today. Glad she did, my older Sennheiser G3's were getting a lot of RF hits. Grabbed hers in a rush, it was crystal clear. In a pinch these microphone performed and the build quality is solid.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from My first wireless system, but it produced too much "hiss" on I bought this one on sale to upgrade my audio gear, but as I used it on my first project, the result somehow disappoint me because of the hiss coming from the audio. Pros: It's easy to set up and come with a nice case. Cons: Noticeable noise even on medium setting, the wire for the transmitter feels fragile and need an update.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for. Strickly compared to the Sennheiser G2/G3 lavs for twice the price. Ran two of these next to two G3s for about 20 hours the past two days in line of sight or through a single wall. Mic Freq response not as crisp. Lav clip is cool though, it swivels. More prone to interference (not noisy for me). The metal clip and battery cover are going to break or be flimsy on these sooner than later... not as robust. Too easy to activate Mute by accident. But turning on/off, way easier... talent can do it for you from their pocket/belt without pulling it out. These can't do anything internally besides change the channel. No scanning for best channels and so on. Battery life is outstanding. G3's dead in no time compared. One killer feature is being able to send a mono line signal in which it has an auxilaryinput. For me, a great solution to send reference audio and slate to camera from my field recorder and help sync in post. Just this feature would be a reason to purchase. You can figure this out with a G3, workflow isn't as streamlined though. Also, headphone out for monitoring... I don't need it with my rig...it's nifty though and simply could be used as a second poor man's line-out. If I was working my own projects and time isn't an issue, these are fantastic. On set with a crew fast-paced... great as backup or when more lavs are in demand. But G3's all day long. If you can afford them. 5 Star for these, because of the price and aux feature. My G3's are primary... but three of these little guys to complete my kit and transmit reference audio saved me over 1k. Hoping they last, will try to baby them. Enjoy.
