Canon WS-20 reviews

WS-20 Wrist Strap is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 69.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great wrist strap for street shooting There are many situations when I don't want to have my camera hanging on a strap around my neck. This is especially true when I don't want the camera to be conspicuous, as in street and other candid shooting. The Canon WS-20 was designed for camcorders, but it also works very well for the larger compact still cameras. I have used mine with a Canon G10 and an Olympus E-PL1, and it has been very effective. The strap is sturdy and substantial--better for these mid-size compacts than the smaller cord-type straps that often come with pocket cameras. It fits handily through the strap lug on both these cameras and provides a very secure-feeling support. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Canon Powershot G12 *Perfect Fit* I purchased two of the WS-20 wrist straps: One for my Canon Powershot G12 and one for my wife's slightly older G11. The strap fits both cameras perfectly and is great for keeping the camera in your hand and ready to shoot at all times, without the fear of it slipping or being bumped out of your hand. The strap is a little longer and wider than most would probably prefer for an on-the-go camera, but it is a sturdy, solid strap. Slimmer and lighter wrist straps did not instill the same confidence as this WS-20. The only feature this strap really lacks is the ability to cinch the strap tighter on your wrist; the opening is not adjustable, which may be a turn off for some.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Canon WS-20 wrist strap Used for Canon G16 point-and-shoot camera. To me, the whole point of the compact camera is to be able to carry it in a pocket, purse, fanny pack, etc. I don't want it dangling around my neck on a net strap. Pull it out when you need it, secure it around your wrist if you like, take a few shots, and store it back away where it is protected and out of the weather. The WS-20 strap is well made and attractive, about the right length. It's probably a little more heavy duty than needed for the G16, but that's OK. The strap is about 1 mm wider than the lug on the camera and it takes some effort and fiddling to work it through the slot. Once in place, everything is fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great alternative This is a great alternative for those in search of something more inconspicuous than Canon's (look at me) stock neck straps. I've been through numerous straps (neck/sling/wrist) in search of the one that suits me best, and this is the one. It is made with the same quality/durability of the stock straps. I've used it on my 5d Mark II for the past year with no problems. It's more than strong enough to simply let the camera hang in situations where two hands are needed. It cuts down on the bulk when placing my camera in my sling backpack. Most helpful of all, it forces the camera to be in your hands and at the ready at all times! I'm ordering a second for my backup camera now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great on the Canon G11! I bought this to use on my new Canon G11 instead of the neck strap that comes with the camera. It's a quality product. The fact that it's designed for camcorders gives me confidence that I won't have to worry about it breaking or slipping when used with the G11. It has a nice large loop that allows me to slip this over my wrist even while wearing heavy winter motorcycle gloves. It doesn't have a quick disconnect, so once it's attached to the camera, it would take a few minutes to remove. This is both a 'Pro' and a 'Con'. There's never a worry about accidently hitting the quick disconnect and having the camera disengage from the strap. Also, not having a quick disconnect allows for a shorter strap length. I just leave the wrist strap connected to the camera all the time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not your grandma's wrist strap I bought this for my Canon Powershot G12 to use instead of the include neck strap. I'm glad I did. The strap is nothing at all like the wrist straps that come with smaller point and shoot cameras. Its similar to the build quality of the neck straps that come with Canon SLR cameras. This thing is high quality and heavy duty. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a replacement strap for a bigger point and shoot such as the Canon Powershot series. I've seen other reviewers even use it for camcorders and after using it I can see why. All around great wrist strap!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DSLR compatible! Though it's designed for camcorders, I use it on my DSLR and it works perfect! Similar feel to Canon neck strap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great wrist strap Great strap - not too long, not too short, (great) Canon quality, great price. A lot less in the way than the neck straps. Picked 2 up - one for the G15 and the other for the 6D. Works great with the 6D w/ grip in portrait and landscape. Quality seems like it will last a few camera upgrades.
