Yongnuo YN600EX-RT II Reviews
Better than expected
I'll admit I'm very big on staying on one manufacturer setup and not straying towards third parties or brands. Usually I'm strictly if it's canon I must go canon. That brings me to this which was a bit cheaper and still what I was looking for. And it exceeds all expectations! Great flash great controls and dare I say better than the more pricey canon comparison? I think so!
Completely satisfied
I bought this speed light at the last minute for an event shoot. My other lights had issues. This light filled the bill nicely. The first thing I look for is that the hot shoe connector is not one that has a wheel that turns to lock. This one has the switch that locks it in place. Also I like the battery level so indicator. Thank you B&H for fast shipping.
Not good for low light setting
Tried to use this flash for a graduation ceremony this flash did me no justice my pictures came out extremely dark im returning this flash soon as the store opens it just didn't work for me
Very good equipment
Very good quality
Yongnuo YN600EX-RT II is a Great tool for the job!
I'm finding I'm getting much better results in eTTL when I use the test preflash function on the camera, Otherwise, dialling in the required amount of light will provide a more consistent result.
It is Okay ... BUT .... wait, there's more!
Really nice flash unit ... except for certain definite limitations. The battery door breaks on older iterations, necessitating the purchase of a replacement on eBay. I understand newer production units have better doors. It is fairly large, making it somewhat unwieldy atop even a heavy, large sensor camera body. It is very responsive to E-TTL commands from the camera, although it gets corn-fusing if you have selected camera based flash output compensation and also flash based compensation settings. It has lots of on-flash controls for both exposure / compensation and wireless remote control, and it works really well - UNLESS and UNTIL it up and dies for no reason after light use. It does a great job lighting relativly distant subjects under low light - such as shooting award presentations during big ball room convention scene - and it does a good job, UNTIL it just up and dies after light duty use. So, as my example has attained a sudden unhappy end, I am once again shopping for a substantial flash unit. Good luck ... you pays your money and takes your chances. I lost the bet on this one. JR
Speedlites
! was going to buy a Canon speedlite for my Canon REBEL T1i. But I did some research and decided to buy this one instead. It has great features and it puts the other flash that I had to shame. If you are looking for a great flash, try this one- I believe you will like it.
The gear a never knew I needed
Needed a flash to redeem myself from a 4th of July event I shot at last year that I'm headed back to this year. It has improved my real estate photography as well. The build quality is good and the brightness is effective at 200mm at ISO 50. Seems to be an exact replica of the Canon. Well worth the $100
