Seymour Duncan 11901-001 overview

  • 1Description

Intended for use on the stage or in the studio, the PowerStage 700 from Seymour Duncan is a power amp in a 1 RU rackmount enclosure, capable of driving 700W to cabinets while routing signal to PAs, mixers, and interfaces—all from your pedalboard. The unit provides dual input jacks on the front panel, as well as an array of 1/4" jacks and XLR line outputs on the back. With the 1/4" outputs, you can send signal straight to a cabinet; with the XLR connections, you can feed line-level sources utilizing True Cab Circuitry, which delivers the sonic signature of cabinets directly to a mixer or PA. You can do this while simultaneously powering the house's speakers behind you on stage, if you choose.

Playing well with today's slate of amp modelers and effects processors, the PowerStage 700 provides three EQ knobs (Bass, Mid, and Treble) that give you ultimate and finalized tonal control before hitting the cabinet or the house. A level knob controls the overall volume. The unit will gladly accept any tone-mangling or sound-enhancing distortion, overdrive, modulation, and ambiance effect you throw at it—and then, when all that is bypassed, it will provide a clean and warm channel, turning your effects-rig into its own two-channel amplifier setup.

In the studio, you can use the XLR outputs of the PowerStage 700 to route sound into a recording interface, thereby mitigating any impedance issues that may arise from tracking guitars in a project-studio environment. Taking up only 1 RU of rackspace, the PowerStage will travel handily from gig to gig in your backpack, or sit nicely all racked up in your studio.

Key Features at a Glance
  • With discreet stereo and 700 watts of power, you can travel to gigs without lugging around a giant amplifier
  • The PowerStage 700 can function as a clean channel
  • The Global EQ on PowerStage allows for adjustments on the fly
  • True Cab Circuitry (TCC) on PowerStage 700's XLR line-outputs delivers cabinet-like feel and response direct to the PA or studio monitors
  • Once you’re done gigging, PowerStage 700 is a suitable fit for your project studio, allowing you to connect your pedals directly into your digital audio workstation
