FUJIFILM TCL-X100 II Reviews

Love It!

After using this lens for several months, I'm very happy with it. Some say it is too big for the X100 Series cameras, but I am OK with that for a little extra reach. The images are sharp, and the focus is fast enough to use in a dark theater (see attached photo). It adds versatility to the X100V.

The lens exceeded my expectations, it was as sharp as the lens on my x100 v Fuji and it was not as big as so many commenters have portrayed it, I am pleased with my lens and have used it more than I anticipated because of requests for portraits

Not for RANGE FINDER lover

I bought this converter expecting the same experience with the x100v: small, light, and a modern rangefinder camera. However, this converter has none of these above. It's relatively heavy, feels off-balance in hand. It's huge for the x100v body. And the it blocks almost half of the Optical Viewfinder, which is the whole point of using a rangefinder in the first place. If you are a EVF person, it might be a good choice for you. If you shoots with Ovf or hybrid viewfinder most of the time, avoid this.

Haven't seen any issues so far. Use it for casual portraits and shooting high school basketball to get some more reach. Great sharpness and such compared to standard x100v lens. Not that big as many people love to complain about it being, my favorite X-Series lens is the 90mm f2 and it's tiny compared to that.

Very happy with this purchase. Would highly recommend! The extra reach is very significant with this camera. The images are sharp, but you have to know what you’re doing. Anybody complains about this lens they’re doing something wrong. Wish there was an 85mm version. Fingers crossed!

Great 50mm Equivalent Lens

I shot with a 50mm f/2 lens back in the film days, so I've always been comfortable with the framing of that focal length. I just recently picked up the TCL-X100II, and I shot some images at the OPTIC West conference in Monterey. If you like a 50mm focal length, don't hesitate. It is sharp, and fast. With the TCL attached, the size of the camera/lens combination changes, and for some, it may be too big. For me, the X100V with both the WCL and the TCL lenses is a very small system to carry around, and the image quality is great.

haven't even used it yet

Yes it does. The conversion lens will block part of the flash beam. An external hot shoe flash is recommended.

Yes. The optical effect and the digital effect are separate techniques to increase tele reach and will not interfere with each other but can be used together.

Is the X100 II Tele lens weather resistant?
Asked by: David
says it is but this whole weather seal thing unless IP published rated is mostly mkt IMO. I have had the TC in South and Central America and it is more sealed than the X100 through F. Never had an issue in pouring rain or humidity the same without raining! Flare is more an issue the sealing. Worth having as a portrait option on my F but not very practical to keep in on for ergos but your mileage may very. Again worth having in x100 kit if only one body kit. today i like rolling x100F stand alone and xe4 with 50 2.0 good luck

I'm using the TCL on my x100v. When I look at EFIX in LR it shows 33mm. Why doesn't it show 50mm?
Asked by: Cary
The FUJIFILM TCL-X100 II Tele Conversion Lens is an add on lens without an electrical contact. Since there is no electronic contact, camera's EXIF doesn't show the 1.4x focal length.
