A sleek short telephoto prime for FUJIFILM X-series mirrorless cameras, the black XF 50mm f/2 R WR offers a 76mm equivalent focal length to suit a variety of applications, including portraiture and still lifes. The lightweight design and bright f/2 maximum aperture benefit working in low-light conditions and also afford a high degree of control over depth of field for selective focus techniques. The optical design features one aspherical ED element, which controls distortion and color fringing for sharper, clearer results throughout the aperture range. A Super EBC coating is also used to control flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in bright and backlit conditions. Complementing the optics is a stepping motor, along with an internal focusing design, which provides quick and especially quiet focusing performance. Additionally, the lens is weather-sealed to suit working in inclement conditions.

FUJIFILM XF 50mm f/2 R WR Reviews
SHARP BUT WEATHER RESISTANCE NOT UPTO MARK !!
After almost three years of use the weather resistance has finally started to fail. I am noticing a patch of fungus inside the glass. This happened inspite of utmost care i took for the lens. This has mad me sad
Great lens
Having enjoyed XF 35mm f/2 R WR so much, I bought the 16mm one. But I found I have had little use for it because of the areas I normally shoot. So, I bought this 50mm. It is light for the focal length, and the images are sharp with great colors. I will be carrying this and 35mm all the time.
Great Lens
Slightly fuzzy when aperture opened up all the way, other than that great lens.
A new adventure for an old foto
Been using the original Fuji x100 for a decade, but wanted a little more reach while still hand holding. B&H sent me an X-T3 with the 50mm f/2 within one day...I now have the equivalent of 76mm, with old school analog familiarity. Thank you B&H :)
Gran calidad
Un lente de calidad extrema a un precio insuperable. El bokeh es suave pero no difumina como uno de 1.8 o 1.4 . Es ideal para retratos
Nice Fit for the X-S10
I needed a short telephoto lens for my X-S10 and this fit the bill perfectly. Great colors, very sharp and small. The lens hood is way too big for my needs so I may replace it or just not use one. Very satisfied with my choice.
Useful lens
Good focal length and autofocus
Wonderful, compact 50mm prime
I've been on the fence about getting this lens and now that I have it, idk why I waited. I also have the 56mm f1.2, which I love. I thought that the 56mm fulfilled all of my short telephoto needs, I was wrong. This 50mm f2 has a number of benefits over the older 56mm f1.2. For one, the autofocus is much faster and quieter (as with all of the f2 primes). Plus, the closer minimum focusing distance means I can get much closer to my subjects. Weather proofing is a huge benefit, allowing me to feel comfortable using the lens in adverse conditions. Sure the depth of field and bokeh isn't going to match the 56mm f1.2, but if that's not all you're after in your work, this lens can be a great addition to your kit.
