    Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band MU-MIMO USB Adapter is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product If your laptop is freezing it may be the internal wi fi. I took a shot with this and it works like a charm. My laptop no longer freezes. The connection of the device is strong and dependable. Be sure to disconnect the internal wi fi then enable the edimax. Great B&H as always!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Weak receiver I have a few computers that used Linksys usb wireless adapters to connect to my home network. One recently failed so I purchased this one as a replacement. Easy to install but when I compared the received wifi signal strength on this computer using Edimax with the others next to this one and using the Linksys adapters, the signal shown on this Edimax was half the strength. Sending it back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Speed Boost I recently upgraded my wireless router from N to AC. I purchased this USB AC adapter to upgrade my older laptop that was using an N USB adapter. I measured my download speed before installing and after. My speed jumped from 18Mbps to 103Mbps. This adapter worked great for me for the past month and I have not noticed any significant heat increase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst. If you'd like another way to waste 18 bucks, I'll make a list for you; my suggestions will also carry the benefit of not being extremely aggravating. The current cycle of getting this thing to work is: - Start from Shut Down only. (Starting from sleep or any other state results in a BSOD - yes, a BSOD. 1997 style.) - Wait for it to connect (assuming my laptop already knows the network). - It then partially loads webpages / syncs Dropbox, etc. - It then disconnects. - It then eventually reconnects. It finishes loading -some- webpages (a web search, yes; gmail, no), and finishes syncing Dropbox. - It then disconnects. - It then reconnects, and, a mere 7 minutes later, we're good to go! Once you get past this, it's stable. Not saying much, obviously. Just don't let your computer go to sleep! When it wakes, it'll tell you there are no network connections anywhere, you'll run the (speaking of waste) Microsoft troubleshooter, you'll check the drivers, you'll check the power state of your USB adapters... and then, yep, blue screen of death. When I remember that this is going to happen I manually restart before it begins whatever mysterious process leads to the BSOD, and then all I have to do is follow the steps in the nifty guide I've provided above. Best drivers installed. All power management settings set to leave adapters and USB ports on. Dell XPS 13 which is otherwise entirely healthy. Bought this on the recommendation of a HelloTech person (first and last time ever down that road), to replace the original Killer wireless card which, as many of us know, was a piece of junk. A good way to waste weeks, too, instead of just biting the not-much-larger bullet and just getting a replacement wireless card. It's one of those things where you know what you want and you ignore the voice in your head and get something else instead and lo and behold, of course you were right to begin with. Waste.
