The iRig Pro I/O from IK Multimedia allows you to record audio and MIDI data from external instruments, microphones, and MIDI controllers to your Windows, Mac or compatible iOS device. It improves upon the design of the original iRig Pro by raising the sample-rate capture up to 96 kHz at resolutions of 24-bit. It also provides a Neutrik combo input for guitars and microphones, as well as an integrated 3.5mm headphone jack with an output level slider; this feature has been specifically added to aid you in interfacing with iPhone 7s and all future iOS devices devoid of 3.5mm headphone outputs.

The single combination XLR/TS input and preamp is capable of providing 48V phantom power to condenser mics. In addition to audio, the iRig Pro I/O can connect to MIDI gear, allowing you to use the unit as a MIDI interface. With this device, IK Multimedia includes MFi-certified lightning and USB cables, offering you connectivity out of the box. The unit is powered by two AA batteries, or via USB bus power if connected to your computer. Last—but definitely not least—the iRig Pro I/O ships with well-regarded IK Multimedia software, including the full version of AmpliTube 4, T-RackS Deluxe, Plus Mic Room, AmpliTube for iPad and iPhone, and SampleTank SE.

Input Control
IK Multimedia included a control feature on iRig PRO - an input gain control knob. This lets you dial in just the right amount of input gain to give your signal.
48 Volt Phantom Power
Studio condenser microphones require 48 volts of external power to function. With iRig PRO, you can plug your condenser mic in, flip the phantom power switch and record.
MIDI
The iRig PRO also functions as a plug-and-play MIDI interface. With the MIDI I/O jack, you can connect MIDI keyboards or other controllers to your device/computer and play compatible virtual instruments. You can also change parameters in Core-MIDI-compatible apps and software.

The audio is clean and the device is easy to use. Highly recommended! My only con to mention is that the 48V Phantom Power switch is a little too hard to switch, but it's a very minor flaw.

Works great but my only knock on it is it is not true stereo sound. Sound on iRig goes in mono and comes out stereo. Not sure how that works but the output is NOT true stereo sound. Other than that, it works well.

Not Good for Online Worship

Didn’t work well. Sounds were muffled or distorted especially for singing voices. Not a good choice streaming live worship services where the sound is collected from a digital sound board. Also, the promotion claims that it works with computer, android and iPhone devices but instruction only provided for iPhone.

Received my I/O and immediately plugged it in, I was blown away at the easy steps to adjust the quality output. The Green/Amber/Red lights help and are very much a reflection of what is actually going out. I found playing on the edge of green with an occasional very light amber flicker produced what I wanted. I have now done over 25 IG Live and Zoom sessions using the device. It is exactly what I wanted. It produced exactly what I was looking for as a DJ. I almost forgot to mention how very simple it is, going straight from either Master or Booth Outputs on my Pioneer DDJ SX2 into the iRig I/O and into my iPhone for IG and just as easy going to the USB on the Laptop running the Zoom session. NO REGRETS.

I use this with my ipad 7th gen 10.2 for recording with minimal gear and it has produced a clean audio signal. i highly recommend the product and plus it comes with apps from the ikmultimedia website

Either platform will work great. The iRig Pro I/O can be used with Zoom on iOS or Skype, Zoom, or any other app which allows digital audio input. Personally, I suggest Mac for more options, but you could really utilize both. When you are home use Mac or when you're away use iOS.

How would I connect a USB keyboard controller to the iRig Pro I/O when using it with an iPhone X and running Garageband iOS? Thanks

If you keyboard controller is MIDI compatible, you can connect it to the iRig Pro using the included MIDI cables. The product manual shows the included cables on page 3 and the connections for a keyboard controller on pages 6 and 7. Yes, the IK Multimedia iRig Pro I/O Audio and MIDI Interface is compatible for use with iPhone, iPad, Mac and Windows computers, as well as with Android devices. Just make sure that you use the correct adapters to enable compatibility. For an Android phone with a USB-C connector, you can use the IK Multimedia USB Type-C to Mini-DIN Cable - 23.6" (B&H # IKIPCBUSBCMD).

If I were to run this connected from a mixer to an iPhone for streaming purposes, could I use phantom power from the mixer to power the iRig?

The iRig is not able to be powered via Phantom Power at this time. The iRig Pro I/O can however offer Phantom power to a connected Condenser Mic.

iRig Pro I/O LEDs Status / Audio level LED The lower LED will show the audio signal level and the status of the unit as follow: • LED Off: iRig Pro I/O is not connected to any power source. • LED Bright blue: iRig Pro I/O is connected and a signal is present at the input of the channel. • LED Green: The input signal of the corresponding channel is low. • LED Orange: The input signal of the corresponding channel is OK. • LED Red: The input signal of the corresponding channel is too high.
