The Avox 4 Vocal Toolkit bundle from Antares Audio Technologies brings you eleven advanced vocal-processing plug-ins, which you can use together to create distinctive vocal tracks in all types of musical styles or to design unique vocal effects for post-production audio. Effects range from harmony creation and microphone modeling, to subtle warmth and doubling, to extreme vocal effects.
Bundled plug-ins include Harmony Engine harmony generator, Mic Mod classic microphone modeler, Mutator extreme voice designer, Articulator digital talkbox, Warm tube saturation generator, Aspire aspiration noise processor, Throat physical-modeling vocal designer, Duo vocal modeling auto-doubler, Choir vocal multiplier, Punch vocal impact enhancer, and Sybil variable-frequency de-esser.
Harmony Engine from Antares Audio Technologies is a real-time harmony-creation plug-in that lets you quickly produce realistic vocal arrangements and explore harmonic alternatives from a single vocal line or monophonic instrument track.
The Harmony Engine gives you four high-quality harmony voices with independently adjustable vocal character, vibrato, and pan settings for realistic or extreme effects. Five channels of the Antares Choir vocal multiplier let you turn each harmony voice into 2, 4, 8, or 16 individual unison voices for thick unison choir effects. Each harmony voice can be processed through Throat Modeling technology, a physical model of the human vocal tract that produces natural-sounding performances.
Powerful control options abound. In fully automatic mode, set the key and harmony voice intervals and let the plug-in do the rest. MIDI mode lets you directly play the four harmony voices with your MIDI controller, as if they were voices of a synth or sampler.
Harmony Engine is compatible with the Auto-Key plug-in (available separately). Auto-Key is designed to save you countless hours in the studio by automatically detecting the key and scale of your music and sending that information to Harmony Engine with a single click.
Mic Mod from Antares Audio Technologies is a plug-in that allows the user to change the sound of the microphone they are using to one of a number of classic mics, from Neumann, AKG, and others, plus a wide selection of modern boutique mics. The plug-in can be used to simply change the sound of the source microphone, to experiment in live situations with microphones that would not normally be utilized, or to change the sound of a recorded track later in a mixing session.
Additional controls allow for creating a proximity effect, for employing a low-cut filter if the model supports it, for experimenting with polar patterns in both the source and destination microphones, or for adding tube saturation.
- Source and modeled microphones—simply select the current microphone (or the one used during an original recording) and the desired modeled microphone
- Proximity controls create the bass-boost effect that results from placing a directional microphone in close proximity to a signal source (e.g. a singer's lips)—create the effects of different microphone distances based on the specific physical properties of each individual modeled microphone
- If the selected modeled microphone has a low-cut filter, model the effects of any of its settings with the modeled microphone low-cut menu
- If the source microphone has variable pickup patterns, enter the selected pattern in the source microphone pattern menu for further experimentation—likewise for the modeled microphone
- Tube saturation control imparts the warmth of a high-quality tube preamp to any given track

Warm from Antares Audio Technologies is a plug-in tool that lets you add the warming effect of vintage analog tube saturation to your vocal and instrument tracks.
Velvet Tube gives you subtle harmonic distortion for a vintage vibe. While most often used for adding warmth to vocals, it sounds just as good on acoustic guitar, horns, strings, synth pads, or pretty much anything.
Crunch Tube gives you the deep, warm distortion of an overdriven tube amplifier. You can crank it up for an industrial vocal sound, or use it as an effect on guitar, bass, or synths.
Omni Tube lets you apply tube saturation to the entire signal instead of just the transients as is typically the case with a tube preamp.
Functioning as an Audio Units, AAX Native, or VST3 plug-in for macOS- or Windows-based audio software, Warm is extremely CPU-efficient and can be used on an almost unlimited number of tracks simultaneously.
Mutator from Antares Audio Technologies is a plug-in that provides a variety of tools for creating unusual, weird, or downright wacky voices. Processes include high-quality pitch shifting, throat modeling, pitch-tracking, ring-modulator-based mutation, and a tempo-synced Alienization function.
Functioning as an Audio Units, AAX Native, or VST3 plug-in for macOS- or Windows-based audio software, Mutator is a powerful tool for special vocal effects and post-production sound design.
Aspire from Antares Audio Technologies is a plug-in tool for modifying a voice's breathiness independently from its harmonic content. It can be used to reduce a bit of vocal rasp or to add a bit of richness to a vocal performance without otherwise affecting the vocal's harmonic characteristics.
When you speak or sing, air from your lungs is forced through the vocal chords, causing them to vibrate. The resulting waveform is propagated through the throat, the mouth, and out through the lips. It is the shape of these structures that create the resonant characteristics that define a unique vocal identity.
The vocal waveform is actually a combination of two different components. The first is the primary element of vocal timbre, the harmonic content. However, there is a second component that is generated by the turbulence of the air rushing past the vocal chords. This component, aspiration noise, does not have harmonic content and can roughly be thought of as breath.
Aspiration noise presents itself in a variety of ways, from a subtle bit of breath to a full-blown rasp. Functioning as an Audio Units, AAX Native, or VST3 plug-in for macOS- or Windows-based audio software, Aspire makes it possible to enhance or attenuate this second component of the vocal waveform, either for corrective or creative purposes.
Articulator from Antares Audio Technologies is a modern-day version of the talk box. The talk box was a processor that allowed you to extract the formant and amplitude information from a vocal (or other dynamic source) and apply it to any other audio track or to a built-in broadband noise generator.
The processor does not mix the control signal with the original, but rather computes a new signal that contains the extracted information. Functioning as an AAX Native, Audio Units, or VST3 plug-in for macOS- or Windows-based audio software, Articulator is perfect for creating talking guitars, singing synthesizers, and a wide range of special effects.
Throat from Antares Audio Technologies is a plug-in tool that allows for processing a vocal through a meticulously crafted physical model of the human vocal tract. The software begins by neutralizing the effect of the original singer's vocal tract and then provides the ability to specify new characteristics of a modeled vocal tract, enabling you to design your own vocal sound.
The software controls allow the user to modify the voice's glottal waveform, as well as globally stretch, shorten, widen or constrict the modeled vocal tract. For even more detailed control, the graphical Throat Shaping display allows for individually adjusting the position and width of five points in the vocal tract model—from the vocal chords, through the throat, mouth, and lips.
Breathiness controls let the user add variable frequency noise to the model, resulting in a wide range of vocal effects. Also possible is pitch shifting the voice up or down an octave to create a range of alternative vocal characters.
Functioning as an Audio Units, AAX Native, or VST3 plug-in for macOS- or Windows-based audio software, Throat gives you control over the human voice to subtly enhance the quality of an existing voice or create dramatically unique vocal effects.
Choir from Antares Audio Technologies is a unique processor that actually turns a single monophonic voice into a lush choir of 4, 8, 16, or 32 distinct individual unison voices. Neither a harmonizer, nor a conventional chorus effect, each of the individual voices has its own pitch, timing, and vibrato variations.
When multiple instances of Choir are assigned to individual harmony parts, the result is a realistic large vocal ensemble. Functioning as an Audio Units, AAX Native, or VST3 plug-in for macOS- or Windows-based audio software, Choir is perfect for creating an instant choir out of any number of voices singing in unison or in harmony.
- Choir Size allows you to select the number of individual voices that will be generated from the original voice.
- The Vibrato Variation, Pitch Variation, and Timing Variation allow you to control the amount of subtle variation applied to each of the generated voices.
- The Stereo Spread control lets you spread the voices across the stereo field.
Duo from Antares Audio Technologies is a plug-in processor that generates a realistic doubled vocal part from an existing vocal. It allows for programming variations in pitch, timing, and vibrato depth in the new doubled vocal.
For added realism, Duo includes adjustable vocal timbre modeling, so you can create a doubled part that sounds like the same person as the lead vocalist—or like someone else entirely. You also have independent control of the level and pan of the original and doubled voices to craft the perfect stereo mix.
Functioning as an Audio Units, AAX Native, or VST3 plug-in for macOS- or Windows-based audio software, Duo makes it possible to instantly create natural-sounding doubling effects for your vocal productions.
Punch from Antares Audio Technologies is a vocal compression plug-in that gives your vocals more dynamic impact to cut through a dense mix with clarity and power. It provides a combination of compression, gain, limiting, and overload protection with an intuitive interface that has just a few controls. Designed for speed and simplicity, the plug-in lets you dial in the perfect vocal level for any mix, in seconds.
Punch functions as an Audio Units, AAX Native, or VST3 plug-in for macOS- or Windows-based audio software.
Sybil from Antares Audio Technologies is a de-essing plug-in tool that makes it quick and easy to reduce unwanted vocal sibilances without affecting the sound of your voice.
A flexible compressor provides control over threshold, ratio, attack, and release. A high-pass filter lets you precisely adjust which high-frequency content gets compressed, ensuring that sibilances are reduced while the rest of the voice remains pristine.
Functioning as an Audio Units, AAX Native, or VST3 plug-in for macOS- or Windows-based audio software, SYBIL delivers effortless de-essing for any vocal.
