Designed for the metal purist, the RG Iron Label Series RGIM7MH from Ibanez is a 7-string electric guitar with a mahogany body fashioned in a sleek, double-cutaway design and styled in a weathered black finish. Its Nitro Wizard-7 5-piece maple/bubinga neck features multi-scale construction (27 to 25.5"), which utilizes individual fret angling to maximize tone and intonation. The neck is bolted onto the body and includes a rosewood fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets.

For electronics, this guitar is equipped with two EMG 808 active pickups that boast a sound favored by metalheads, tailored for 7-string guitars. Additional features include single tone and volume controls, while the 3-way selector switch lets you choose your pickup configuration. The strings are secured by a Mono-Rail bridge to deliver the effective string-to-string isolation, allowing for each string to vibrate optimally without be affected by the others.

Features & Benefits of Multi-Scale Design
  • Equalized tension helps to create a more "alive", open tone. But the design also improves player comfort. The multi-scale construction ergonomically coordinates with the way a player's hand angles as it moves up and down the neck, facilitating quick, comfortable playing action.
Nitro Wizard Multi-Scale Neck
  • The super-slim and comfortable 5-piece maple/bubinga Nitro Wizard neck provides solid stability for the increased tension of the extra string. A spacious, rosewood fingerboard enhances playing agility and optimizes articulation.
EMG Pickups
  • Because of their slanted mounting angle, wider-than-normal pickups are required for a multi-scale construction instrument. EMG 808 pickups are proven performers for down-tuning. Their highly responsive, super-tight growl is the ideal match for the RGIM7MH.
