Boasting components and design ported from their top-shelf models, the Lewitt LCT 440 PURE is a side-address true condenser microphone that offers a rewarding studio-class sound on anything from vocals and acoustic instruments to drums and guitar cabs. It features a gold-sputtered 1" large-diaphragm capsule and high-end circuitry, so it can produce polished sonics and handle punishing SPLs before distorting. Supplied with a shockmount, foam windscreen, and pop filter, the LCT 440 PURE is a capable mic package for the studio or stage.

The mic's cardioid polar pattern is most sensitive to sound directly in front of it while rejecting a significant amount of ambient noise behind the capsule. The mic imparts a lift in the treble range to enhance crispness and clarity without sounding brittle. As with all solid-state true condensers, the LCT 440 PURE requires 48V phantom power and can be connected to an XLR input on your mixer, audio interface, or mic preamp.

High-End Technology

With its larger-than-life sound and outstanding build quality, the LCT 440 PURE is specifically designed to let you perform comfortably while sounding sensational. That is possible because the LCT 440 PURE uses the same high-end components, capsule, and circuit design as Lewitt's prestige models.

1" True Condenser Capsule

Utilizing a 1" large-diaphragm true condenser capsule, the LCT 440 PURE delivers excellent performance specifications in dynamic range, high SPL handling, low noise, and high sensitivity, making it a studio allrounder that lives up to its name. Record acoustic guitars, drums, wind instruments, guitar cabinets, you name it.

Wonderful & Affordable Condenser Mic

By Jeffrey

I have a few different microphones for podcast & youtube use. I like to keep both a dynamic and a condenser mic around because I prefer condenser sound but don't always have a super quiet environment to record in, so using a dynamic mic is helpful sometimes for less background/ambient noise that I have to address in post. However, I am simply amazed at this microphone's combination of wonderful condenser sound profile with above-average noise rejection for this type of mic. It still picks up more ambient sound than my dynamic mics of course, but I can record with this relatively close to my laptop and even when the fan kicks on it's hardly noticeable. For reference, where I record I usually can get away with a -60db noise gate for dynamic mics and -51db for condenser. With the LCT 440 I have it set to -55db. Most importantly, the sound from this thing is very impressive for the price point. After testing it with no post processing, I couldn't believe that it was under $300. Just a few mild tweaks and it sounds amazing! Terrific warm and rich tone with the clean & clear highs that I love from condenser mics. That alone is very valuable, because I could plug this into a different interface or switch to a new recording app with no saved settings and have it ready to record in a few minutes. Can't say that for some of my other mics that required quite a bit of tinkering with filters/EQ to get the sound right. Also love that Lewitt included a metal POP filter and foam cover along with a shock mount right in the box. Overall this one is a winner!

Sounds great but needs a good-sounding room

This microphone sounds fantastic. It's very smooth with both good low-end and nice presence. It does pick up quite a bit of the room though, so if your room is not treated, you'll end up with a slightly hollow sound. I'm actually adding treatment to my room to make it work better with this microphone now.

Great Mic, Blends Well with Other Mics

This is the Lewitt equivalent of the AKG C214 in that it is the cheapest of the line and it has the same cartridge as the more expensive versions except in a cardioid-only version. It compares quite favorably with the AKG C214 in tone and super low noise. It has a very similar voice to the AKG P420 and the Blue Bluebird, so it works well with all three of these mics. Physically, the LCT-440 Pure is remarkably well made and gorgeously finished - an actual mic of beauty with the functionality to go with the looks. It performs well on bass, brass, strings including electric and classic guitar and works quite well for voices ranging from mid-low to very high.

Everything they say it is

This is a really nice mic. I've used it on acoustic guitar and vocals, and it gives a nice, balanced, true sound. The slight bump in the top end opens things up a bit (and means I don't have to EQ that in afterwards). VERY detailed and clean. Exactly what I was looking for.

No more plosives

I switched from my former mic to this one because my tech guy said it would help me avoid plosives as a voice artist, and he was right. If you have any trouble with plosives, check out this mic!

I realize the LCT 440 Pure is INTENDED for studio use, but if I wanted to use it outdoors, what deadcat wind screen would fit the microphone?
Asked by: John
We do not have a furry deadcat style windcover available for the Lewitt LCT 440. The only option that we have for the LCT 440 is a foam windscreen, which is the Lewitt LCT-44-WX Windscreen for LCT 240, 440, 441, 540, and 640 Microphones (B&H # LELCT44WX).

It's my understanding the mic is designed by Lewitt in Austria, and produced by their self owned factory in China.
