Not at all what I had hoped for

The fit is quite poor, there is a piece that simply won't work as it costs me access to the programmable buttons on the lens, and the material doesn't grip well in my hand (it holds to the lens just fine). I am extremely disappointed. I own a few items from LensCoat and have been happy overall - though have always felt they were overpriced. This is simply not worth the money.

Some would say this item is too expensive but I don’t think so. I consider this pretty cheap insurance against scratches and dings that would drag down the value of a very, very expensive lens. This product fits great and should last for years, at least the one it’s replacing did.

I should have bought one of these as soon as i bought my lens. Fits snug and has nearly eliminated scuffing of the lens. Clear plastic window over the controls makes changing settings very difficult however those controls are rarely changed and you can slide that portion of the cover out of the way easy enough to get at them. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that the only instructions included were for a different version of my lens and it was confusing fitting. Also the LensCoat web site has not been updated to show the extra sleeve to cover the focus ring that is now included in the package.

I put LensCoat on all my big lenses. It prevents minor nicks and scratches which increases the resale value when I buy a newer version.
