This 3 pack of LegCoat Protectors is made from closed-cell neoprene and heavy-duty padding to protect your tripod's legs from the elements, bumps and scratches. The material is also designed to be comfortable against your shoulders during transport. Additionally, LegCoats camouflage the tripod's legs when you're shooting outdoors. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have This is a must have product for anyone who does a lot of outdoor/wildlife photography with a long lense. I tend to do a lot of walking with the tripod, camera and 500mm lens on my shoulder and these pads make that much more comfortable (no more bruised shoulders). They also make the tripod much more comfortable on those really cold mornings. One concern I had before purchasing was if the covers would slip. With the sticky tape on the inside of the cover it remains in place with no slippage. For such a simple product it makes hiking/walking with tripod and long lense much more comfortable, allowing you to focus on the task at hand, taking great pictures.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I expected I ordered this item to provide me some shoulder padding when carrying a heavy camera body/lens combination in the field for wildlife photography... I did not install it on my tripod. The foam rubber padding was too soft and split lengthwise. Adhesive tape was furnished for installation. I have a scope tripod that I added leg protectors to some years ago, and they came with dense and durable foam padding that slid on the disassembled leg tubes. That's what I expected this to be. I'm still looking for something like that, but in the interim I have purchased some high density pipe insulation from a plumbing supply store that is adequate but not durable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Foam tore easily, tape not recommended. Great product - they make carrying it so much more comfortable. Also the tripod blends into environment in most cases. But I don't like the tape used to hold them in place. I used it on one to experiment and see if I preferred to have it in one place. One uses it by removing the protective layer that covers the tape. At the beach, salt water got on my Gitzo tripod, I needed to remove the protectors and wash the legs. As I tried to carefully remove the protectors, the soft foamy material tore very easily because of the tape. They were brand new. Plus once that tape in on, I can't reposition them at all. Tape will not come off. Advice is not to expose the tape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shoulder saver I got these for my gitzo 3531lsv and i love them. i frequently walk around with a large lens, camera body etc. attached and the foam padding and neoprene cover make it very comfortable against my shoulder. they fit perfectly and go on super easy. i got one of the neoprene covers pretty muddy at a local pond and i took it off and rinsed it with warm water and soap and it cleaned right up. they also protect the tripod from getting scratched up plus they are more comfortable to grip in the cold weather then the cold carbon fiber legs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I got them, but I am still not sure why? I guess they feel nicer to the touch than the carbon fiber legs when you put them on and it makes the tripod legs feel soft when you hoist it over your shoulder for transport, but do I really need padded leg covers for my tripod? If it protects my $600 investment from fracturing, then I guess they would be worth it, but....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For the fashion conscious Looks good. Easy to install. Made well. Maybe a little over-priced. Matches the LensCoat that I have on my Canon 400mm f/5.6L, so I'm color coordinated. Functional as far as keeping your fingers off of the cold tripod in adverse weather. If you have small hands, like I do, makes gripping the larger circumference of the covered leg a little more cumbersome. The design of these leg covers could really be streamlined if the ends tapered instead of abruptly ending at both ends as wide as they are in the middle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good addition to my Gitzo Very easy to install and without any glue or sticky mess. I installed them on my Gitzo tripod, specifically for using with a heavy lens.
