These are exactly what I needed for communication on shoots. Nice size and they can run on the included battery pack or AA batteries. I have older motorola accessory mics that work perfectly with these.

They have very good reach. I use them for hiking, to talk from car to car, and ready for an emergency because I live in an area that is hit by hurricanes.
Rubber piece to open the charger port is hard to open
These walker talkies did not work well at all. Perhaps if you are in the woods or country with no cement but in one building in the city we could not hear each other at all. I will try to return them.
I've had many different FRS radios and this model is my favorite. I prefer them to the newer Talkabout models with bluetooth and the bright colors - those look like toy radios. the volume/power dial is essential in my opinion. everyone should have a set of these in their preparedness kit.
