The ADDERLink XD522 KVM Extender features two DisplayPort connections and also carries S/PDIF digital audio, analog audio, high-speed and standard USB 2.0 signals, and RS-232 serial control. The system is designed to let you locate your critical computing hardware in a secure indoor environment away from the user workstation while maintaining a standard user desktop experience.
The transmitter/receiver units connect over a single or dual Cat 5e/6 or higher cables over distances up to 492'. Cat 7 shielded foiled twisted pair cables are recommended. At the maximum distance of 492', the system works in low-rate mode and supports a single 1080p60 display. In low-rate mode, the DisplayPort input 2 is disabled and a total of 148.5 MP/s is made available to the primary video port.
When working over cables measuring 328' or less, the system is capable of operating in high-rate mode, which allows you to use both DisplayPort connections and at more than twice the video bandwidth. High-rate mode supports a single UHD 4K30 or 2560 x 1600 at 60 Hz display signal or two 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz displays.
