General Features

Double-Decker Heatsink
The Z270I Gaming has a double-decker heatsink design that allows the M.2 SSD to be stacked atop of the PCH heat sink, which is then topped off with an additional metal heatsink for the M.2 drive. The two heatsinks are thermally isolated to help prevent the PCH and M.2 from affecting each other. The double-decker design not only helps maximize board space on the small mini-ITX board, but also improves heat dissipation, cooling the M.2 SSD by up to 68°F for improved stability and enhanced gaming performance.
Aura Sync
ASUS Aura Sync RGB LED technology makes the ROG Strix Z270I Gaming the control hub for your illumination ambitions, so it's easy to synchronize lighting effects between compatible components, including RGB LED strips, graphics cards, keyboards, and even mice. Change all LEDs in unison or employ dynamic modes to flow the illumination effects across all your synchronized devices.
Aura Lighting Control
Create your own custom LED lighting effects with Aura software. Cast a multi-color glow across your build with the powerful RGB LEDs built in to the motherboard, or attach separate RGB strips using the two onboard 4-pin headers. You can even use both at the same time and enjoy perfect lighting synchronization. Fire up Aura and enjoy the creative freedom of nine different lighting themes.
SupremeFX Audio
ROG Strix's SupremeFX audio technology delivers a 113 dB signal-to-noise ratio on the line-in connection and 120 dB on the line-out. ASUS has also added a low-dropout regulator for cleaner power delivery to the SupremeFX S1220A codec, plus Texas Instruments RC4580 and OPA1688 op-amps for high gain with low distortion.
Sonic Studio III
ROG Strix's Sonic Studio III audio effects station has a routing feature made for streaming. The routing feature ports streams to different outputs, giving you full control over who hears what. With Sonic Studio III, you now can share your in-game moments without worrying about DCMA takedown requests. In addition to that, Sonic Studio III also comes with app-level preferences for instant audio profiles, and improved noise filtering for conversations with clarity.
Sonic Radar III
ASUS has given Sonic Radar III an overhaul, evolving the audio engine to process sounds more accurately. They've also added an onscreen arrow to help you pinpoint the enemy's position instantly. See the origin of key in-game sounds and hone your enemy-pinpointing skills. Plus, the audio boost feature provides filters that let you hear quiet sounds, so you can become the hunter, not the hunted!
ASUS Pro Clock Technology
A dedicated base-clock generator designed for 7th Generation Intel processors allows overclocked base base-clock frequencies up to or beyond 425 MHz. This custom solution works in tandem with the ASUS TurboV processing unit to enhance voltage and base-clock overclocking control, providing another way to boost performance.

    ASUS Z270I reviews

Republic of Gamers Strix Z270I Gaming LGA 1151 Mini-ITX Motherboard is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best ITX z270 mobo This motherboard has everything you'd need except an internal USB 2.0 header so if you wanna use a popular NZXT or Corsair liquid cooler you will not be able to use the Cam or Corsair link software. That aside, this thing supports 2 M.2 SSD's so you can really free up clutter as you won't need of SATA cables. There's RGB lighting & many more things you may not even use or know about. Like the ROG line you can use aisuite to control your fan speeds which is my favorite feature. Set custom curves with PWM fans & even 3pin fans. A top pick if you want a high quality great looking z270 mobo for your build.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Installing Windows 7 on Z270i w/ M.2 SSD This is an outstanding motherboard. I am especially impressed with the onboard audio and graphics. However, installing Windows 7 can be tricky. Create a Windows 7 installation USB stick via the tool located in the first link. Then reference the second link for instructions on how to format and partition the M.2 drive using a command prompt early in the Windows 7 installation process.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feature rich and stable This is a feature rich and stable mini itx board. It offers 2 m.2 pcie slots and customizable led lights that can stay on while the computer is off. The aura lighting effects can be synced with supported video cards and led strips. The CPU and chassis fan headers offer pwm and D.C. Control. There is also an aio pump header that only runs fans or pumps at full speed. The board runs absolutely stable with my xmp ddr4 4000 MHz memory.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great motherboard with minor issues Great motherboard for an ITX build, with fun additions like an RGB led header on the build. Built in wifi and Bluetooth support is nice too. The only drawback is the lack of USB 2.0 headers on the board itself, for connecting things like liquid coolers that may ask for a USB connection. This requires creativity, but can be a deal breaker to some. For that reason, I knock it down one star for a total of 4 out of 5.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous motheroard. This motherboard id absolutely awesome. The rgb lighting is amazing and it goes great with any asus rog strix gpu. I have had no problems running it so far with my I7 7700k and it even has a m.2 heatsink for my new samsung 960 evo. The layout of this board is sick and the design is stunning. I would highly recomend this. P.S. It comes with cool decals to put on your case or whatever and a cup coaster.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing ITX Motherboard! This motherboard is amazing! It includes all the features you would want on a full ATX motherboard but just less which is usually what you can fit in an ITX case anyways. Bios was very easy to use and I have overclocked my 7600k to 5Ghz with 1.33V and also with an air cooler.
