    Pacsafe GII reviews

Carrysafe 100 GII Anti-Theft Shoulder Strap (Black) is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for me Well built, nice quality but I hated it in actual usage. I like to wrap my camera strap around my wrist a few times to stabilize it and the snaps and fasteners on this strap lined up exactly where I wrap the strap and it actually bruised me in the wrist. For hanging around your neck okay, for working photogs, be warned about the metal swivel snaps. I'm going back to my old strap.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Definitely worth your consideration. Just started using the product, but it appears up to the security task. I am concerned about the connections to the camera -- appear to be nylon web material unlike that of the main body of the strap which has a steel wire core. Further use is really required to fairly evaluate this item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Anti-Theft Shoulder Strap Price about the same as every one else. Yes it is ugly. Looks like its well made. Hard to install on cameras. Overall I think I will like the feeling that it will be harder to steal. Plenty long enough to wear across the chest. I'm 6' tall.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Traveler On a recent trip overseas our party of four was mugged and pick pocketed. Now we plan on traveling to Ecuador and Peru, where camera snatching, backpack slashing and pick pocketing are reported to be rampant. The Pacsafe 100 GII camera strap helps us protect our DSLR from slash and grab and from camera snatching. The strap is well made, but with a couple weak links. The Dymeea web material may or may not hold up to a slashing and the O ring attachment at the camera and plastic attachment (web to strap) are weak links in my opinion. There is a very easy cure to these issues if you are as concerned as I am at this point. You can attach the strap directly to the camera lug without the Dymeea web extension strap or modify the Dymeea strap to make it more slash resistant. My modification of the Dymeea web included replacing the O ring with a stainless steel O ring one would use for heavy saltwater fishing. I also added flexible 7 strand stainless steel fish leader, side by side with the Dymeea web material. The fish leader forms a loop at the plastic attachment point and leads back to the O ring at the camera lug. Of course the easiest method would be to attach the base camera strap directly to the camera lug with a super strong O ring and forego the web modification as I did. I still use the neoprene sleeve covers over the Dymeea web material as it hides my modification completely. If you are considering not using the Dymeea web strap extension, then I would purchase the model 100 for $5 less. Overall the strap is a bit more stiff than the strap I was using, but I'm willing to put up with the stiffness in order to safeguard my expensive camera.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Theft resistant camera strap with one weakness Good idea and construction, should be a good safety retention device. Be careful with the small rotating locking devices by the lower clips- one of mine broke when trying to rotate it to open the clip. They are apparently made of plastic, not metal, a weak point on an otherwise useful product idea.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A better than average improvement. The main strap is stiff but sturdy. The anti-theft (cutaway) feature is somewhat negated by the extension straps at either end where they attach to the camera. The adjustability of the length provides a good range for users of varying heights.
