The UAP-AC-HD-US Wave 2 Enterprise Wi-Fi Access Point from Ubiquiti Networks is a scalable enterprise access point solution designed to be easily deployed and managed. It supports the 802.11ac Wave 2 Wi-Fi standard with speeds of up to 1733 Mbps in the 5 GHz radio band, and up to 800 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz radio band. The Wi-Fi system offers simultaneous dual-band operation with 4x4 MIMO technology for each band. Install the UAP-AC-HD-US access point inside or outdoors (covered) using the included wall or ceiling mount kits. Once installed, the dual PoE compliant Gigabit Ethernet ports make it easy to connect the AP to the network without the need for a standalone power source.

The Wi-Fi system includes UniFi Controller software that can be installed on a PC, Mac, or Linux machine within the network, and is easily accessible through a standard Web browser. Using the UniFi Controller software, an Enterprise Wi-Fi network can be quickly configured and administered, without any special training. Real-time status, automatic UAP device detection, map loading, and advanced security options are all seamlessly integrated in the system.

Wireless Uplink
Wireless Uplink functionality enables wireless connectivity between APs for extended range. One wired UniFi AP uplink supports up to four wireless downlinks on a single operating band, allowing wireless adoption of devices in their default state and real-time changes to network topology.
Guest Portal/Hotspot Support
Easy customization and options for Guest Portals include authentication, Hotspot setup, and the ability to use your own external portal server. Use UniFi's rate limiting for your Guest Portal/Hotspot package offerings. Apply different bandwidth rates (download/upload), limit total data usage, and limit duration of use.

All UniFi APs include Hotspot functionality:
• Built-in support for billing integration using major credit cards
• Built-in support for voucher-based authentication
• Built-in Hotspot Manager for voucher creation, guest management, and payment refund
• Full customization and branding of Hotspot portal pages
Multi-Site Management
A single UniFi Controller running in the cloud can manage multiple sites: multiple, distributed deployments and multi-tenancy for managed service providers. Each site is logically separated and has its own configuration, maps, statistics, guest portal, and administrator read/write and read-only accounts.
WLAN Groups
The UniFi Controller can manage flexible configurations of large deployments. Create multiple WLAN groups and assign them to an AP's radio. Each WLAN can be VLAN tagged. Dynamic VLAN tagging per Wi-Fi station (or RADIUS VLAN) is also supported.

802.11ac Technology

Assuming the same conditions, a Wave 2 AP provides up to 75% improvement overall over a Wave 1 AP. This improvement increases wireless performance and/or serves more clients at the same performance level.
4x4 Spatial Streams
At any single time, a Wave 2 AP can communicate with the following MU-MIMO clients:
• four 1x1 clients
• two 2x2 clients
• one 2x2 client and two 1x1 clients
• one 3x3 client and one 1x1 client
A 4x4 Wave 2 AP delivers up to 33% greater performance than a Wave 1 AP that is 3x3 in both radio bands.
Client Compatibility
The UniFi AC HD AP is the first UniFi 802.11ac Wave 2 AP. Combining the performance increases from MU-MIMO technology and the use of 4x4 spatial streams, the UniFi AC HD AP delivers up to 125% greater performance than a typical Wave 1 AP.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highest performing access point on the market After using off the shelf routers on a 100Mbps connection for many years, I've decided to treat myself with Gigabit Fios, fiber service. That's when I realize how inconvenient is having one billion bits per second delivered over a wire, but only getting a fraction of that over WiFi. So after doing my research, I decided to get myself a Ubiquiti UniFi AC HD (High Density). The UniFi AC HD is a high performing 4x4:4 access point powered by the best SoC that Qualcomm has to offer (QCA 9994), which is also found in the highest end enterprise grade solutions from Meraki and Ruckus, which cost $1,300 bare bone, but require additional licenses and subscriptions which add $thousands to the cost over the years. AC HD supports Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO), Transmit Beamforming, Hardware offloading on both 2.4 and 5GHz bands, super low latency, dedicated hardware offload for QoS, Guest control, etc. It's all controlled with the single pane of glass via UniFi Controller software. Because of it's vertical radial pattern it's highly recommended to mount the unit on the wall or ceiling, and avoid placing them flat on the desk or other surfaces. This also means that if you're looking for an access point that will cover extremely large surface and bleed into the outside areas, this probably isn't the right product for you. But if you're looking for the highest performing Wi-Fi access point delivering the ultra efficient and reliable connectivity to hundreds of devices, then this is absolutely the one to get. Oh, and finally my Wi-Fi speeds match that gigabit wired fiber connection.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic performance & coverage I replaced a Meraki MR26 with this UAP-AC-HD. I know, 802.11n vs 802.11ac. But the MR26 is a really nice, well-built AP by a leading enterprise manufacturer. Problem was, I kept having clients disassociate from it, coverage was okay, but not great, etc. Swapped in this UAP-AC-HD and it's been a night and day difference. Clients that used to disconnect and have issues streaming media, etc. now have zero issues and coverage is better. Throughput tests also show a marked improvement, but that's expected with 802.11n vs 802.11ac. Initial set up of a new Unifi Controller can take a little time (although the Cloud Key makes this really simple), but once your controller is set up adding new APs like this one is a breeze. Plug it in, click Adopt, done. Super easy setup. Stats provided via the controller are really helpful, provide easy to view charts/graphs, etc. Overall really great product at an unbeatable price point. Not missing anything after replacing my enterprise name brand wireless system.

    Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good WAP We have two other UAP Wave 2 Enterprise WAPs for the past two years, and needed a third. The easiness of physically installing this was counterbalanced with the difficulty our Ubiquiti software gave us to add this next item. After a couple of calls to TS, the new WAP was up and running, and working wonderfully, providing excellent and consistent speedtests. Overall, these work great, but could be difficult getting it up and running.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Slow Wifi I connected it to my existing router with no problem.? The problem is, I should get about 100mg wifi download on 5g but I only get 55mg on average. I tested it with several of my other 5g wifi networks and Unifi HD runs slow. I talked to the support desk for two days and they basically said that's the max speed I will get. My current 5g wifi runs good at 100mg download, I was just trying to extend my rage to other parts of my house. But why would I install something that is giving me a slower wifi?

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fastest WiFi I’ve ever used If you want to get the fastest WiFi speeds you’ve ever seen, get this thing! On a google fiber connection can max out at 600 Mbps up/down on the 5ghz band and for the smaller IoT devices the 2.4 ghz band is rock solid! That being said, this is not your average plug it in access point/router. There is a learning curve to using the UniFi controller software so don’t expect this to look like your Linksys router’s confit page.

Use in high date use environments, with hundreds of associated clients, like cafes (near colleges and universities), fairgrounds, and other event facilities.
