Leupold LRP overview

  • 1Description

Leupold's 6.5-20x50 VX-3i LRP SF Riflescope is designed for long-range precision (LRP) competitions or hunting. It carries over reliable performance of previous versions but features upgrades like the new elevation dial with a travel indicator and a non-illuminated TMR Reticle. The optical system is enhanced with the proprietary Twilight Max Light Management System, which improves transmission of the entire visible spectrum, resulting in bright and high-contrast images even in low light. Its wide 50mm objective lens further improves visibility in challenging lighting conditions. To protect the optics from scratches and abrasions, the exterior lenses are also treated with DiamondCoat 2 protective coatings for increased resistance to scratches and abrasions. At the core of this riflescope is the first focal plane Tactical Milling Reticle (TMR). It features four medium posts and a fine milling crosshair.

For durability and strength, the housing is crafted from a durable and lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum alloy and features a 30mm maintube. It is filled with nitrogen to ensure water and fogproof performance and offers a tall, graduated, finger-operated elevation turret, and a side focus parallax dial.

    Leupold LRP reviews

6.5-20x50 VX-3i LRP SF Riflescope (TMR Reticle, Matte Black) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome scope but documentation needs work! I recently purchased this scope, (6.5-20x50 FFP TMR), for a Savage 6.5mm CM Stealth precision rifle and so far I really like it! It is well built and the glass is excellent. I did have one minor complaint though. The product documentation is lacking some necessary detail. After I mounted the scope on my rifle I checked how much elevation I had available and found there was only 12.4 mils and seemed to be bottomed out. Since 12.4 mils is or is close to mechanical zero, I knew this couldn't be the case so I checked all the documentation and couldn't really find anything detailing adjustments other than how to reset the turrets to "zero" after sighting in the scope. Anyway, long story short, after combing the internet for a while I found a posting on a forum from someone with the same issue where I discovered the fix. Loosen the hex screws on the turret and rotate it one or two turns clockwise to increase the available elevation. After doing this I had 22.4 mils of elevation travel available, (still slightly short of the 23.3 mils indicated in the specs),(and yes I will be calling customer service shortly to make sure all is operating correctly.). I hope to get out to the range later this week, get sighted in and put the new scope to the test, but for now, seems to be an awesome well built scope. So in closing, after figuring out the adjustments, I feel like I have an exceptionally nice scope with great features and a reasonable price! Rated 4 stars but think it deserved 4.5, minor ding for documentation issues. Thanks for reading!
