Yongnuo YN 85mm f/1.8 Lens for Canon EF
Key Features
  • EF-Mount Lens/Full-Frame Format
  • Aperture Range: f/1.8 to f/18
  • AF/MF Switch
  • Gold-Plated Contacts
Well-suited for portraiture, the YN 85mm f/1.8 Lens from Yongnuo is a short-telephoto prime designed for Canon EF-mount cameras. Pairing well with the slightly long focal length is a bright f/1.8 maximum aperture that benefits working in low-light as well as affords greater control over depth of field for selective focus control. An AF/MF switch on the lens barrel permits quick switching between focusing methods, and the lens can focus as closely as 2.8' to suit photographing close-up subjects. Additionally, gold-plated contacts permit working with all exposure modes as well as transferring lens information to the Exif data.

Will this work with mc 11 adaptor?
Asked by: Gnzo
I love the shots I get with this lens. As long as the MC-11 is for Canon EF-mount lenses then, it should definitely fit. Though, I'm not sure how the Yongnuo brand will react to being adapted. I've never tried this myself.

question

Is it sharp as the canon ef 85mm 1.8?
Asked by: Shagufta R.
The performance is of the Yongnuo is comparable to the Canon. So much so you may not see any difference in the images unless you are very experienced and know what to look for. Both lenses are entry level therefore so lens performance is compromised to some degree as compared to higher quality lenses. And of course build quality-wise you get what you pay for. In the end, I would say the Yongnuo is good for light use and the Canon for moderate use.

does this lens work with a nikon d3500?

does this lens work with a nikon d3500?
Asked by: andrew
Yes it does. I have personally used the lens on a d3400, d3500, d5100, d5200, d5300, and a d850 with absolutely no issues. On the 850 it is a 85mm because of it being a full frame. On the others it has an effective focal length of 127.5 as otherwise stated.

question

Does the autofocus works in live focus mode?
Asked by: Shagufta R.
No!!!!! It worked slowly and eventually got there but ultimately ruined the lens. This happened two month after buying the lens. I now own a manual focus ONLY lens. Yongnuo would not honor the 1 year warranty.
