it does the job
there are pricier and more sturdy adapters out there, but this thing has 2 screw holes, so i can both mount it, to an L bracket and add a cold shoe, for a mic. it has a small profile, which helps with the set-up.
It seems rickety, but it holds up and does the job pretty well. I use it regularly. and an added bonus, it was pretty inexpensive.

Not that great
It works but the base doesn't lock, which when is mounted with a phone and lightining makes it feel not that save.
