question
is this a dual try printer? can docs be printed both letter and legal in the same print request?
For those still considering this and similar machines, with the same question...no. Features like those mentioned in this question are found on Segment 4 or 5 machines, typically more often on Segment 5 but not the cheap machines like this in Segment 3 and lower.

The included fax cable with this Xerox VersaLink C405/DN All-in-One Color Laser Printer, would plug into a landline in order to use this fax feature.

question
Can you reset the toner to get every last drop of toner out of each cartridge? Anyone have any luck with generic toner? Trying to estimate cost of ownership as the brand name toner is expensive and it seems common for the printer to say a toner is out when there is a decent amount left.
Long-term effects (and sometimes short term, within months) of off-brand ("generic") toner have proven to be disastrous. With experience in National Accounts with a major competitor, when customers (ESPECIALLY government agencies!) would have issues with their MFPs (misfeeds/jams, poor print, etc) the issue came down to off-brand toner. Brand toner (Xerox in this case) is well worth the little extra for the piece of mind and productivity. Lower cost brand toner can be found by shopping around. However, for those considering these MFPs, opting for what MAY seem like less expensive toner (it may be "cheap" but it's certainly not less expensive), is like jumping over dollars to get to pennies.
Lastly, we would void warranties if service technicians discovered that off-brand toner was being used in our customers' machines.
