Genaray Studio 1200 overview

  • 1Description

An asset in the studio or on location, the 17.5 x 15.25 x 2.5" SP-S-1200D SpectroLED Daylight Studio LED Light by Genaray employs 1200 LEDs for output that's 5600K-balanced for daylight shooting or to match other fixtures that are daylight-balanced. A high CRI/TLCI of 95 indicates faithful and accurate rendition of color. The fixture comes with a removable tungsten-conversion filter that allows you to seamlessly blend in with traditional fixtures or for shooting in venues dominated by tungsten light. Light intensity is variable from 100-10% both locally on the SpectroLED SP-S-1200D, or remotely at distances up to 65' with the included wireless remote control. Settings are displayed on the light's back panel LCD screen.

The 1200D ships with removable 4-way barndoors that limit spill light and allow you to further control the light's tight 45-degree beam spread to illuminate parts of your subject that you want and keep the light from areas where you don't. The barndoors have removable textured inserts that ensure maximum output while lending a slightly specular, snappy quality of light. Remove the inserts if you prefer a softer look. The SpectroLED SP-S-1200D has a yoke that permits tilting when stand mounting with its 5/8" and 1-1/8" combo receiver/pin. The receiver offers an additional benefit accessed by removing the tightening knob which converts the receiver to a 1-1/8" pin for stands with a Junior receiver.

The SpectroLED SP-S-1200D Bi-Color is ready for worldwide use thanks to its included multi-voltage 100-240 VAC adapter but you can also take advantage of the light's V-mount battery plate to operate the light on optional batteries when mains power is unavailable.

Daylight Color Temperature
With a color temperature of 5600K, the 1200D blends in seamlessly in daylight venues or with other daylight-balanced fixtures. A tungsten conversion filter is provided to for match situations with warm color temperature or just for creative use.
The Spectro-LED 1200D is conveniently dimmable from 100-10% to ensure the ideal light level for your requirements.
The high CRI/TLCI rating of 95 indicates faithful and accurate color rendering.
Flicker-Free Output
Flicker-free output allows you to shoot at a high frame rate for slow motion.
Power Options
The Spectro-LED 1200D runs on the included multi-voltage 100-240 VAC power supply or on optional V-mount batteries when mains power is unavailable.
Remote Control

The Spectro-LED 1200D has a combination 5/8" receiver / 1-1/8" pin for stand mounting.

    Genaray Studio 1200 reviews

SpectroLED SP-S-1200D Daylight Studio LED Light is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of bang for the buck with these LED panels I recently got this LED panel and the SpectroLED SP-S-800D, and spent some time testing and using them for a variety of lighting scenarios. The included barn doors and tungsten filter are great, not to mention clips on the barn doors for further modification with gels and filters. I'm also glad they came with a safety cable, as I plan on suspending these from the ceiling and want that added security. The panels are compact, come with a nice bag, they're re easy to transport, set up and use, output is fantastic and color is extremely consistent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MY NEW FAVORITE LIGHT! I have had this light for about 2 months now and I can say that is is amazing! I have used it about 40 times now and have been put through the ringer, moved around, ran off battery, plugged in, attached to moving car... Still holding strong, feels and looks just as good as the day I got it. It is very bright and the barn doors are excellent! The nice case makes traveling with this very easy and the setup time is super low. I would highly recommend this light for anyone looking to upgrade. One thing I wanted to test was the CRI and make sure it was really 95% CRI and I can say 100% it is, mine was closer to 97% =] Over all I am really crazy happy with this light, I have owned other lights in this price range but this might be my new favorite - Genaray has earned my trust and my support and I plan on picking up more of there lights to live alongside with this one =] After 40 days of use I have nothing bad to say... kind of crazy - I highly recommend this light

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Lot Of Light And Quality Throughout! Owning & loving the bi-colour version of this light, I figured I would give this one a try in the studio. I run a small video studio where I have been suffering for many years with lighting. Especially green screen video where lighting is of utmost importance, but all video none the less. Upon getting the SP-S-1200D I was impressed from the moment I opened the box. Everything comes in such a nice and professional nylon feel travel case that will protect the light and all its components while out and about. Build quality is top notch. Looking for areas where the manufacturer may have gone easy to save costs, yielded no results. This thing is built like a tank! With its variable power from 10-100%, it's easy to sit almost inches away from the light and not be blinded, or even the need to squint. (keep in mind, with LED, no danger of heat either!!) However when you need to fill in an area, dial it up and you've got more light than you'll ever need. Plenty of light power with room to spare. The included remote is a blessing as in my studio and maybe in yours, when everything is set up, one can get cramped (quickly) and you may not have the opportunity to jump behind your lights. A quick click of the remote can turn your light on/off and up/down in power. I recommend this light highly for those doing photography, video work, maybe if you are doing a YouTube channel etc, so many options. Honestly, when you see what Genaray has to offer, they can be your one stop shop for your entire lighting needs. And my love for B&H goes without saying, prompt professional service and all items continue to arrive in pristine condition. I guarantee this will not be the only Genaray light in your studio!
