The cocoa B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone, Very Low Sensitivity, with Detachable 3.5mm Locking Connector for Azden Wireless Transmitters from Countryman is a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter with changeable protective caps, which provide moisture resistance and color options. The mic can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, churches, and general lavalier applications.

Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in hair or on costumes, or taped to a performer's face. The aramid cable and ultra-thin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's cable terminates to a 3.5mm locking connector for direct connection to an Azden older 41BT and 10BT wireless bodypack transmitter.

Additionally, swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or match other microphones. The B6 microphone is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. These caps can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Unobtrusive
Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.
Rugged and Reliable
The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.
Refined Sound Quality
The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.
Versatile
Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

I've been using B6 mics for a long time now for film. They sound great and are very easy to hide due to the tiny capsule. I'm not sure DPA and Sanken Cos 11d have been dethroned yet, but this guy is on par as far as I'm concerned--especially considering the ease of hiding it.

Maybe world's smallest laverier microphone. This mic has 24 dbA of noise floor, but I think that it is acceptable range in hearing and much higher flexibility than that.

After using one of these on another film crew, I marveled at it's small size, big sound and the ability to hide it. As soon as I got home I bought one. I've used this on two client shoots already and the sound is great. Client's love it because the lav is almost invisible while the talent was walking around the set. Next time I need to mic more than one person, I'll probably buy another one - it's that good.

Great for hiding, especially with white or light colored shirts. Even when used visibly with a clip, it has a neat look. Sound quality is always good with the B6, especially in such a small package. Make sure you order the correct connector; no return, special order items are no fun tracking down refund/exchange options from Countryman. I wish Countryman made a nicer, more discrete mic clip. The cheap plastic ones are, well, plasticy and awkward looking. Can't find third-party clip for a cable that thin. Also, windscreen is off-white, not pure white. Still worthy of a five star rating. I often poke the mic through the button hole of a shirt, letting it stick out a little to avoid rustling. Most buttons are white so it's hardly visible at all. A little tape on the inside of the shirt and great audio is on the way.

We were hoping to get a second Sanken cos-11D to have matching mics, but that mic has been on backorder for some time now. Needed a second mic for a job and we gave the Countryman B6 a shot. Very happy with its performance. And the case, accessories that come with it make it that much more valuable. They offer the mic for pretty much every receiver available. It was definitely worth it and we might possibly be looking at purchasing more Countryman B6 mics in the future.

Cananyone tell me how this performs if you have two speakers close to each other? Is there significant mic bleed between two mics in close proximity (like guest/host interview?) And if used over a PA or speaker system, does the PA bleed into the Mic? Thanks!

Two people can be sitting or standing next to each other and there will be minimal bleed. These mics are omnidirectional, but are finely tuned to supress feedback, if P.A. speakers are placed in front of the talent, facing away. I would recommend this pick-up pattern to allow subjects to move their heads back and forth, without volume fluctuating.
